very disappointed

bought this generator 8/1/25 picked up a week later--------it was missing parts and ignition keys!! It is now 8/18/25--------------still no parts or keys!!! Im very disappointed since I paid $3999.00 for this item.

Great unit!

We have had the 17500 for a few years now and it has been great for us. We live near a national forest so when power goes out it generally stays out for several hours to several days. We do the regular maintenance on her and have a trickle charge solar panel on the battery. It definitely burns through fuel, however, it runs EVERYTHING. Also is very heavy, so have so.e strong people around if you need to move it or place it strategically and then buy a sturdy after market cover to keep it out of ...

Changing of the guard

We have been running our old 15KW Generac Guardian Ultra-source gasoline generator for the past decade to power our home during after hurricane power outages. The Generac has always been dependable. Crank- no Start ongoing issue

Bought this generator in May, 2018. Worked fine for a few short power outages. Live in rural area and need Generator for power outages as we are on a well and have no water when power out. In Sept 2021, we had a major hurricane come through and had no power for four days. As soon as power went out, we started Generac and it ran great for about 48 hours. At 3 in the morning, it stopped. Quality of generators has gone downhill

Use caution when purchasing a GP17500E. I own 1 of these units and one GP15000E. After purchasing my 2nd GP17500E the electrical output panel did not work out of the box, the battery needed replaced after a couple hours, stator went out and I spent over $1,500.00 in travel and employees time solving these issues with the help of a certified Generac service center.

This is gonna be great for powering my whole home

I purchased a 6500 unit after hurricane Ibella. I was pleased with the performance. I have now bought the 18000 unit for powering my whole home in case of another disaster comes my way.

Generac GP18000EFI

The generator is being used to charge batteries and run a small cottage at the same time. No complaints about weight and size as it's expected. It fired right up and started going to work. The only problem we have encountered is the 30AMP breaker keeps tripping if we run small window air conditioners (5AMP) or anything at 1,500 watts=12.5AMPs for a brief 5 min. Has yet to crank

Spent a lot of money on this generator and it won’t even crank. Not every generac dealer works on portable units, so took research, time and extra calls to find a dealer that would come out. The repair company has replaced the starter, the carburetor, magnetos, the list goes on yet it STILL WONT CRANK. This is extreme frustrating for the money spent.

GP15500 EFI *DISAPPOINTED *

I purchased and received my GP15500 EFI on July 11, 2023. I purchased the unit to supply supplemental power to my home, as we experience frequent multi-day power outages due to severe weather. As of yesterday, 07/29/23, we were subject to severe weather and lost power. I fired the generator up and started supplying power to my home. I'm pleased with the overall look and the attention to engineering details. The generator appears to have been designed for ease of maintenance. I like the location of the oil dipstick, oil filter and the oil fill on the engine. I also liked the oil drain hose which will make it easier to not make a mess when draining the motor oil. Not as noisy as I expected. Pleasantly surprised

Very nice unit, I purchased in preparation of hurricanes. Runs my 1850 sqft home with no problem including 3 ton A/C unit. electric water heater, 1- refrigerator, 1 freezer. I purchased this unit because it has less than 5 percent harmonic distortion so I am not too worried about it damaging my appliances and electronics. I'm using the 50amp plug only

It powered the home for 7 1/2 Days

I bought this generator to power the home during those temporary power outages due to thunder storms. Then Hurricane IAN devastated our part of SW Florida. It was September 30, and I couldn't even go outside to set up and start the generator until 11 PM, when the winds dropped to 50 MPH. Finally was able to use my GP17500e

I purchased this generator new approximately 5 years ago. I left an initial impression review at that time. Other than monthly test runs, I have not had to use it. Last night it was finally used to provide power for the entire house. It worked flawlessly. It was 28 degF. When I started the generator and it ran continuously for 16 hours with no shutdown. A portable beast

When I decided to purchase my generator, I spoke with a fellow instructor at the JATC. The company he works for is an authorized dealer of Generac and he understood my needs, as my home doesn't have natural gas nor a large propane tank. Seems great - just bought - missing a piece

I just received the shipment and set it up for test run. The setup was easy (using my tractor to get it lifted off the pallet so I could install the wheels). Started right up and made electricity, so all good. Then ran it back out of fuel and disconnected the battery so it would store well. Overall, all systems go. Home Back Up GP17500

Purchased for hurricane back up power for my all-electric home. Works very well but just falls short of being able to operate all the house loads. Having said that it still covers the important items (a/c, lights, tv, fans, etc.) but adding the water heater and stove pushes the 50-amp capacity. Neighbors are looking at upgrading their units.
