When I received this pruner in the mail, it came in a large long box. When opening the plastic from the top of the pole it was not easy, but that’s a good thing it has a large sharp blade on it. The tip of the blade has a small plastic cover. When we attached the blade we had to twist off a wing nut and no tools were needed. Easy to handle,effective tool

This Fiskars 12 ft pole saw is everything that you would expect from Fiskars. I have many lawn and garden tools from them and this one does not disappoint. This saw is easy to extend out and I like it that it has two locking mechanisms to hold it in place. It has a nice pruning feature with compound leverage to help trim those small branches, the pull handle fits your hand real nice. Sharp Blade. Easy To Use.

Used this to trim up an Elm tree. Work great for small and big branches. The only down side when fully extended it becomes hard to get much sawing pressure on it for thicker branches. Overall well made and works great.

Nicely balanced

This product is nicely balanced. While holding it, it doesn't fall because the handle is so much more heavier than the bladed area. It's a 2 handed pole and easy to maneuver. Easily used for cutting branches that are over the fence and not accessible by ladder. Very pleased.

Good pole pruner but a little flimsy

This is an easy to use pole pruner. You just need to attach the 12 inch saw blade to the pole, and then you are set. The pole locks well in place, and extends easily. The pruner works well to cut off small branches. The only real negative is that the saw is a little flimsy, which makes sawing a bit more challenging. Great pruner , ok saw

I received the fiskars extendable pole saw and pruner which extends to 12’, so I went out to my tree in the back yard and decided to test it out, it definitely has a good reach so that was helpful, I tried the pruner first and it cut a 3/4” branch pretty easily, so off to try the saw, now the saw was sharp but will bend very quickly, not to bad but enough to make you watch what you are doing , I cut about a 2” branch and it took a bit, but finally it did the job, I just thought it would be faste...

Good Quality Fiskar Product

Fiskar makes good quality products so expecting that same quality with this product. The product comes packaged in the sealed plastic covering the head/blade of the pruner. Some assembly required. Blade installs easily by removing the wing nut and washers locking into place. The blade has a plastic protective cover just for the tip of the blade and the end that connects to the pole. great trimmer

This pruning saw is a vast improvement over saws I've had. The pole length adjustment locks in place and will not slip or twist and is very easy to adjust. The saw attaches with a wingnut so no tools needed. The trimmer has a double looped pulley so there is plenty of leverage to cut. I tried this on oak branches which are hard wood and clipped them with little effort. The saw is also sharp and cuts through oak easily. The pole is sturdy so very little flex when cutting.

Don't buy this pole saw!

The saw blade on this product is of inferior quality and design and makes this product borderline useless. The blade is too thin and bends while trying to saw. This makes for frequent jams. It is a narrow kerf blade, better suited for fine sawing than tree branch pruning. The blade is made in Vietnam. The extendable locking handle is fine and the pruner was sharp and functional. The blade on my Snap-On hand pruning saw is far superior. My ancient Sandvik saw cuts better than this Fiskars ...

stopped properly cutting limbs after awhile

worked great at first, bur not after awhile, and when cord became untied, had to restring

The cord was frayed after 45 minutes of using it. Would not recommend this tool.

Cord is stretchy and the spring broke the first day I used it.... very cheaply built

Terrible

Terrible tool. The first time we used it the locking apparatus to extend the pole would not hold it in place. So the only way you could use it was to not extend the pole at all. I would like to return the item if I can.

The saw blade will not cut.

The teeth on the saw blade have no set. I tried to saw a branch around an inch and a half wide - sawed and sawed and not even a dent. I removed the blade and tossed it. However, if you only need the cutoff blade with the rope pull that works fine. I had the pole extended to it's full length and did not notice any problem.
