What Customers Are Saying
Customers are sharply divided on this trimmer. Many praise its lightweight design, ease of assembly, and dual trimming-edging functionality, finding it comfortable and ideal for small yards. However, nearly as many report severe battery issues—lasting only 10 to 20 minutes with 3.75-hour recharge times—forcing multiple battery purchases. Mechanical failures plague the product, with reviewers citing broken line feed systems, jammed spools, and failures after minimal use. Some note lack of power against thick grass and front-heavy balance. Despite positives, battery performance and durability concerns significantly undermine satisfaction.

Would Not RecommendJust used this product for the first time. Line doesn’t feed off of spool. Have to manual feed line every 2 feet of edging. Would be faster to get on my hands and knees and edge with manual clippers
U name it
the product is not what its suppose to be.It has name of "craftsman" but is not..the trimmer is weak, and or the battery is.Battery not strong enough and takes forever to charge!!! So I guess I wont order anything on-line from lowes again... .

Liked it till now
Would Not RecommendI've have had the trimmer for about a year and a half. It worked great until I went to use it this season. The string either doesn't come out at all or it all comes out and wraps around the head numerous times. I tried brand new spool(s) of line and got the same results. I expected the trimmer to last longer, it is a Craftsman. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing, because it appears the problem I have is similar to what others have experienced.

Poor Battery Life
Would Not RecommendI just purchased this, it does work well except for the battery life. I used it for the first time on a full charge and it only lasted about 10 minutes. I had to fully charge the battery 4 separate times to finish the trim on my yard and I don’t have a large yard by any means. It’s very frustrating that a full charge doesn’t last as long as they specified in the product specifications.
Worst product ever
Would Not RecommendYou have to open it up every single time you need more line coming out. It’ll trim about 5 feet before you have to re open it up to pull out more line. Complete waste of time. Only used to twice and tried every hack in the book to make it work better but it’s a total pain. I want a refund!!!!

Craftsman CMCST915
Would Not RecommendThis product seems to have a very low review. I purchased this last year and it worked well. Now the inside portion of the trimmer head has a piece that broke off. This causes the trimmer line to eject all at once. I'd like to just replace the trimmer head but can't seem to find a replacement. These reviews say the same thing about no ability to find a replacement head.

Not good bro
Would Not RecommendPurchased this trimmer last fall, never had the chance to use it... busted it out the other day for the first time and a little black clip in the head decided to bust right off...I assume it's what prevents the spool from spinning as it runs because now it just constantly feeds line while in use rendering this thing useless.

Auto feed mechanism is terrible. Renders the whole thing pretty much useless.
Can’t handle leg weeds
Would Not RecommendI asked the opinion of a associate at the store n he assured me this would do the job but the battery went down within 20 min of use , I was very disappointed!

easy to use
Would RecommendThe weedeater is very light and easy to use for my 5’4” frame. I could also use it easily and convert it to the edger. My only issue with it is the string kept coming out, but that’s with most edgers

Disappointed
Would Not RecommendCraftsmen is usually a pretty good brand at decent prices. I have a tiny lawn -- too small to warrant a lawn mower, so I have used small similar weedwhackers for many years. This model however is a worthless piece of crap. Beware. Tried it once and returned it.
stalls too easily, not powerful
Would Not RecommendI have a small yard, with a fenceline and a sidewalk. On paper, this tool seemed perfect for the job. In reality, it didn't have enough power to cut through the grass around the edge of my house and the fenceline. I had to move really slowly, or else it would stall, which seemed to drain the battery extremely quickly. When it stalls out, it doesn't just spin slower, it stops spinning entirely. So it felt like endless cycles of spin up, bog down, stall out. As an edger, it is worthless. It's ni...
Absolute Garbage
Would Not RecommendDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This trimmer does not auto-feed line and only allows for a single line out of the trimmer head. I love Craftsman products, but they should be ashamed of themselves for this. I lost track of the amount of times I had to stop and get more line out only to make it five feet before I needed to do it again. It would have been better for me to buy a pair of scissors and cut it by hand. This trimmer also fails to cut grass on the first pass which made it all the more frustratin...

Spool head broke, line doesn’t stop coming out.
Would Not RecommendI took the cover off and removed the spool to find that there is a little black clip under where the spool is placed that has broken off, and now the little broken clip just spins in circles. This happened after just a few uses and I cannot find a replacement spool head anywhere (online or in stores). I don’t know why this model doesn’t have a replacement head assembly anywhere when I’ve found one for the CMCST920 and CMCST960 series. All I can find is the cover alone, but no complete assembly. ...

Unending line
Would Not RecommendThis is our second summer using it. We got it because we have hundreds of cypress knots and didn't want to deal with gas powered. While the 20 min of run time at a time is annoying I could deal, but now the line just keeps coming out. So I can't do my yard at all!!
