What Customers Are Saying
Customers are sharply divided on this trimmer. Many praise its lightweight design, ease of assembly, and dual trimming-edging functionality, finding it comfortable and ideal for small yards. However, nearly as many report severe battery issues—lasting only 10 to 20 minutes with 3.75-hour recharge times—forcing multiple battery purchases. Mechanical failures plague the product, with reviewers citing broken line feed systems, jammed spools, and failures after minimal use. Some note lack of power against thick grass and front-heavy balance. Despite positives, battery performance and durability concerns significantly undermine satisfaction.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Pretty decent but could have more power!
Worlds well just seems under powered, not enough RPM to spin the cord fast enough to tackle thicker weeds.

Would Not RecommendThe feeder mechanism broke after 2 short uses on our CMCST915 string trimmer. The feeder head is junk and very poorly made.

Vibrates the heck outta my hands
Would Not RecommendAnd the string slaps against the guard and makes a god awlful noise. I borrowed a friends battery powered Stihl weed eater since my late husbands gas powered Stilh was too heavy for me . And I thought maybe this Craftsman would be kinda like her Stihl battery weed eater---NOT EVEN IN SAME UNIVERSE. This Craftsman weed eater vibrates my hands and arm about as bad as a gas powered weedeater does, Im a 41 year old in good shape woman and it shouldnt be that much of a hassle. And the string slaps ...

Feed broke
Would Not RecommendUsed this only twice. The spool feed is broke. Now it’s useless. Should have checked reviews before I bought it.

Absolute garbage
Would Not RecommendCOMPLETE waste of time and money. Battery life is unreliable and pathetic. Starts, stops, starts, stops. Takes FOREVER for battery to charge. I always end up using my neighbors WORX to finish the job. Today I took this weed eater and put it directly in the trash because that's where it belongs. If I could give ZERO stars, I would.
Spend the money on a big battery
Would RecommendLightweight and lots of power and it lasts about 30 minutes

Cmcst915 string trimmer
Would Not RecommendBought and used the trimmer maybe half a dozen times. Now there is nothing to hold the spool from just spinning. Something inside broke on the little lever thing.

Line Free Spools
Would Not RecommendI have a CMCST915C1 and I used it a few times and when powered on the trimmer line keeps coming out and I can literally pull the line out by hand and empty the spool and it is completely assembled, I removed the spool and the cup 90641177 has a cog and looks like the pin broke off that goes into the spool grooves, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Very disappointed
Would Not RecommendI like that it is light weight & easy to use but the battery only lasts 15 minutes. I got less that 1/4 of my weed eating done & had to go charge it again. It was so frustrating! I had to charge it 5 times to get everything done. It was terrible.
