Just Bought It — Let’s See How Long It Lasts

I purchased this Craftsman weed eater today (07/08/2025). I’m excited to try it because it doesn’t require gas and oil mixing—just like my mower walker, which has lasted a long time with proper maintenance. I’m hoping this trimmer holds up the same way over time. I’ll update the review later based on durability and performance.

Runs strong.... but that's it

I like the 4-cycle engine—no mixing fuel, and it starts easily with strong performance. However, the string head constantly causes problems. I spend more time fixing it than trimming, which makes it frustrating to use. Am currently shipping for a replacement because of the string head.

Never able to pull start after several attempts

Wont start. Line spool disintegrated after 3rd use. Engine fell off. This is the worst trimmer by far. A $50 corded trimmer will do better.

No stars!

This thing worked okay, for a little bit. Barely used it. After a year and one day of owning it breaks, you get excited to find out there is a two year warranty on the product. All to get the complete run around with craftsman and whoever they contract out. I have now spend hours on the phone to find out the closest place to fix this thing is an hour and a half away and it will cost me 80$ for him to fix it (not including my time and gas there and back). Not worth the hassle

First of all, no pre mix is a plus, but not worth it. This very heavy and the strap is not comfortable for shorter folks. The gas cap kept leaking no matter what we did to put it on and not to over tighten. The aluminum shaft bend on me on my third use at the connection point. There are no arrows to tell you which way to wind the string. Can we stop winding string in 2025. So twice I wrapped the string the wrong way and had to undo it all. SO FAR SO GOID!

Only used it once so far. Easy to assemble. Easy to start. Seem reall r stong. No complaints as of yet.

Great multi-function tool.

Strong performer. Easy to start. All of my Troy Bilt attachments from my failed power head fit the craftsman model.
