Should have upgraded a long time ago.

I have been using a Craftsman router for years. After a lot of googling and reading reviews I bought the Bosch 1617EVSPK. I've only done a few projects, but it has been worth every penny. Sets up so much faster, more powerful, so much better all around. I love it.

Great unit

Really like this router. So many different ways to use it that I'm still learning the options. I hope it lasts a very long time.

Generally, the unit performs as advertised. The instructions are very good. Some improvement suggestions: 1. Provide an arbor lock button to eliminate the need for a collet wrench to hold the arbor when changing bits; 2. Provide the dust collection attachments with the unit instead of as optional purchases; 3. Provide space in the storage box for the dust collection attachments.

First Router Purchase

This is my first router purchase, and I am more than happy with it. Plenty of power, but the slow start feature and the terrific design make it comfortable and easy to use. Nice to have a hard case and a long cord.

Happy camper. Dust collection is an afterthought and adapters are difficult in practical use. The soft start feature and handles make it very comfortable. Micro adjustment a bit confusing with both imperial and metric units on the same scale. Overall a solid system. I have no idea if it will still function in 20 years like my Porter Cable. I wish a motor only was available separately to install in my router table.

Router good, disappointed in BOSCH brand.

Seems straight forward enough. I have a simple project, a childs growth ruler. I need tools, go with a trusted brand, BOSCH. I purchased the router (1617evspk which seems to be a great tool, though hard to adjust and wanting for detailed instructions in the manual) a centering cone, a guide adapter, and a set of guides, all BOSCH. after several attempts by several people, the bit(s) still rub on one side of the guide. It appears that BOSCH manufacturing standars are "good enough, ship it"...

Great tool, poor owner's manual instructions.

I like Bosch tools and this is a great tool but I thought the owner's manual did not sufficiently explain how to use all the features of the tool...the manual was not easy to understand. Also, I wish I had known that this router required the purchase of an accessory to use standard template bushings.

Great tool

It worked great routing a sign and putting a decorative edge to some shelves I made.

Bosch 1617EVSPK

I have only had a few chances to use my new router, but I can say that I am quite pleased with the purchase. I have owned a few other Bosch tools in the past and I have never been let down. I would recommend this router to anyone who is considering it.

Sticky plung action

I am happy with the fixed base and have used it quite a bit with no issues. Not as happy with the plunge base. I have found the plunge action to be a bit "sticky". The mechanism seems to need lubrication. Have avoided using it on a project yet.

Works well.

Meets my expectations and needs. I also purchased the RA1191 router table.

A beast of a tool

Amazing quality Amazing price. SO much better that the beginner router I had, so bummed it took so long to upgrade. Everything about this tool screams quality. I had it up and running on my router table In minutes and the adjustable speed made just the right cut on my project.
