Poorly/Flawed designed fixed and plunge bases

Fixed Base (above and below table): Because the motor is only supported on one side when adjusting height, the bit is not perpendicular (square) with the base. As with most things that are supported only on one side, they tilt to the other side. Tilt remains when motor clamp is engaged. No auto shut-off is dangerous

I had the same router for 20+ years, a Craftsman, and, of course, it died. I had high hopes for the 1617EV - both the plunge and non-plunge models. Using it for the first time today, I was shocked there's no auto shut-off on either of these pricey units ($250 for the plunge). You literally have to suspend your work, hold the router steady, without letting it scar the wood you just went over, then reach up, and shut off the switch. great tool

Great tool and very powerful for flattening slabs. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars, i cant find a dust extraction hood for my plunge base. None online seem to be compatible with this model. if anyone at bosch can lead me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated

I easy to handle

The soft start on this router is awesome, my old router would nearly jerk out of your hand.

Bosch is great tools

I’m a big Bosch fan and I’ve been looking at this tool for a while now. And I got it as part of a deal and it is great built and easy to use.
