Works great. I have zero previous router experience so I had zero expectations going in. But this router combo is recommended by a lot of wood working people, so I went with it. Got a fantastic deal on it too thanks to a Lowe's one day sale. Only thing I wish it had was a vacuum hookup, but I can buy that accessory and probably will.

Great general purpose router
Great general purpose router, well built and reliable. I own 3 of these sets, the oldest of which is 20 years old and still going strong. The plunge base is intuitive and solid; no slop as it moves up and down. The fixed base is OK. I rarely use a fixed base on this size router. I used it in my first router table, it's so so. Fine for light work, but you really need a 3hp router for a table. Overall, this would be my first pick if you're only going to have 1 router.

Substandard parts
I’ve used my router four times. The fourth time I used it the spring clamp on the dial adjuster moved out of the slot and marred up the shaft and will no longer stay engaged. It is simply too flimsy and the fixed base is now useless. I see why they only warrant it for one year, it’s just over two and barely used.
