Better Than I Hoped

Reading the reviews, I braced myself for a difficult installation experience - setup, mounting, and function. Wife was poised to call in a handyman, but everything went super smoothly, except maybe lifting the back cover off the keypad and activating the batteries. Using the iPhone app, setup was easier than expected. Even when I forgot the provisional code, I was able to go into the app settings and simply reset. Great addition to August Smart Locks

I have these on my Front and Back doors. Easy to install and setup. I really like the one button Lock feature! Easily setup codes for guest, family or service providers like house cleanings, home healthcare nurses etc. Buttons are back-lit for easy use when dark. Single AA battery powered: I use rechargeable Lithium AA's though and AA will work, comes with a battery and mounting screws.

I have the smart lock pro and the keypad is a great addition for my daughter to use and regular guest.

Works great but setup buggy

I was at the very end of the setup and it failed causing the device to brick. I had to email in for a code to reset it. They got back to me in about a day, the code worked and on the second attempt it worked and it's been a popular addition to everyone in the family. I don't see why this code cannot be included in the device paperwork. This would have made the setup, despite the error, easier so I didn't' have to manually email customer service.

Terrible product. Not worth the money

The keypad fails to add properly to one August lock, without Wi-Fi, that is chosen during setup, but adds it anyway even though setup failed. Tried adding it to another August Pro lock with Wi-Fi connectivity. Adds properly but test code after setup or any code created fails to open lock.

Love it!

I can't believe I waited so long to get this keypad! It works perfect and is much more convenient to use than the app if geofencing didn't unlock it. Plus, it's super easy to hit the button to lock the door on my way out. I have both Alexa and Google in my garage so I can lock and unlock (with my pin number) with voice command but the keypad is quick and easy if I'm talking on the phone.

Easy to setup and use

Great addition to the August WiFi smart lock. Nice when you go outside, don’t bring your phone, and have auto-locking turned on….

A very helpful device!

This keypad comes in handy when your phone stops auto-unlocking your lock or when you have toddlers or when it’s winter (or all of the above.) Easy setup. Works like a charm.

Convenient

Since I set the auto lock to 10 minutes, this keypad is convenient for immediately locking the door when leaving. It was easy to set up and it works fine. If you live in a building or house that is at risk for vandalism, this keypad can be ripped/knocked off the wall easily (even when screwed to the wall).

BEST ADD ON EVER!!!!

I have had my August lock for almost 2 years! I had looked at the keypad about a year ago and thought why would I need that!! Well let me tell you, being able to provide your housekeeping services and pet sitter services separate access codes knowing when they come in when they go is amazing. Plus I don’t have to pull my phone out to open my door anymore, got to be the best feature add-on ever!!!

seems spotty & unreliable compared to smart locks

i’ve installed keypads with 2 of my 3 smart locks. we love the smart locks, they’re very reliable. the keypads seem less so. in the app, under house settings, then keypad settings, it seems that they’re reset to blank about half the time i open them. i modify them & save, sometimes it seems to stick, other times not. the battery indicator remained at full, even when the keypad was dead and unreactive. when i replaced the battery, it began working again. i added a temporary guest user. w...

Awesome, must have addition!

I love that I have a keypad. No fumbling for the app, can give the code easily to family and friends and change it afterwards. Love it!

Needs updates badly

This is our second keypad. This one is exactly the same as the first one we got about 3 years ago. The first one worked OK for a couple of years but started to intermittently not work. So I replaced with this new one. It is working better. But neither of the keypad's motion detector ever worked so the numbers don't light-up in the dark. It is hard to type the numbers correctly because you cant see it. I set the motion settings and also retried setup but no luck. The keys are rubbery and not very...

Good features but poor quality

I bought this recently but the buttons on it are hard and sometimes do not work. I have to press hard each time and rekey the code several times to open door.

3 years in...

I've had this for three years now. Very Frustrating!!! It's intermittently working now. I punch in the code, and it doesn't take the code. Then you have to wait for it to reset to input the code again and you have to put in the code super slow, otherwise it won't work at all and errors. There should be some kind of reset button or cancel button. There should be some kind of chime you do get the code right to let you know it's working. I don't

This one is not so good

I have had this installed for a little over a month and it seems to love batteries. Not sure what the problem is. I have two others installed at two other locations and they are working wonderfully. That is why I bought this one. I love the features and convenience thy afford. I can set up a code and give my guests access without actually going physically to the lock. I have put two sets of batteries in it so far. Once the batteries are in, all is good and normal. But a few days late...
