Works perfectly because the watch app is flawed as is the phone app. And if you ever get locked out without phone or watch it’s a Saver.

Works in below zero temperature

Live in an area where you get to below zero temps but don't want to carry your keys out while shoveling snow? This is the Keypad for you! I live in a Chicago suburb, and we get zero temperature often during the evening. I thought this unit would not work due to the battery operation. I was wrong! This unit works excellent even during Severe winter weather.

Cheaply constructed.

Replacing the battery is hard and the cheap plastic breaks easily. I have a Ring system that you need to screw in and out and makes it more secure.

Bought if for my wife cause she never has her keys but no one else uses it but me so there’s that . Overall a great product

Does not work well

Installed August smart lock, bridge and the keypad. Opening and closing via the app is very reliable and fast. The keypad hardly works - it does not accept the codes in 95% of the time. Tried different pace of typing, resetting the whole system. No solution - do not recommend.

This works, but I shouldn't need it.

This mounts cleanly next to the door, and has eleven physical buttons. It syncs up to the lock just fine, and opens it after you enter the code. This thing functions as it should. My issue with the smart keypad is the need for it at all. I ordered this because there are times when my August lock doesn't see my phone, or chooses not to unlock. I ordered this because it's difficult to get other people to download the app and make an account for access. This lock is a band-aid for issues tha...

Great addition!

I wanted to use our lock as a stand alone device using the Auto Unlock feature but couldn’t because our sons Apple Watch doesn’t support using the stand alone watch app unfortunately. I decided this keypad would be required. That being said, I love the size and functionality of the device. It works excellent and was very easy to install. Highly recommend for those wanting the most versatility the lock offers.

Does not work Emtek lock with connected by August

I purchased and Emtek lockset with the connected by August smart module add-on. This will not work with that lockset. It is very frustrating and I spent over an hour on chat support to find out it isn’t compatible.

Nice Addition to a Great System

The keypad has been a great addition to the August lock system and integrated seamlessly--there are times when we are outside of the house without our cell phones and the keypad comes in very handy in getting back in through the front door. It is also very handy for granting guests access.

Horrible!

Had for 2 years and keep it in my mailbox to stay out of the weather(fully enclosed with a door cover). Hardly used and when I did, I usually had to enter the code twice and it might work. All in all save your money these things are JUNK. Also tried resetting it and now it wont even work to do that.

Can do better

We always have to push the buttons hard and in a direct path. Not easy for kids to use. The door is not that responsive even when the batteries have been changed out. Plastic is cheap. They need to go back to the basic design. Don’t make it so narrow and stick out so much because it makes it unstable on the door. If ring comes out with a door opener I will go with them.

Contantly running out of batteries and failing

I have had now two of these key pads. Love the design and the ability to have a way in should you not have a key or your phone should die. But these things constantly need attnetion and have failures. On my second one and it just died. August will not replace even their own replacement within 6 months.

Key pad worked good for 14 months but has broken

I bought this keypad about 14 months ago, the batteries died and now it will not reconnect to the lock, I have tried many times to reset the keypad but it is dead on arrival.

Works well, easy to setup

Easy to setup. I had an initial issue pairing the keypad to the lock and thought I'd have to call customer support, but then I actually read the instructions completely and was able to easily reset the keypad and get it to pair. No issues since, a great product.

Great addition to the smart lock

Bought this handy addon a few weeks ago. Great for when I'm working in the yard etc, when I don't have my phone with me .

Works as Expected

I installed the Smart Keypad a month ago and it has worked well so far. I can’t say anything about battery life yet. Installation was easy; changing batteries may be a little tricky, as some others have said. I think you have to be careful not to stress the small tab that releases the housing to gain access to the batteries.

Saves me from embarrassment

This lock was the first thing I bought for my new house. It works great. I have had it a year. One day my middle child told me their phone was dead when they got home from school and they had to sneak in through a window. I forgot about it, and life went on... Until 2 weeks ago. I was at my neighbors hanging out. My phone died... And I had been gone over 30 min. 11pm... I come home.. door locked. I go into the garage, must have a charger out there. Nope. 80% perfect

This comes with a good stick on or screw in kit. It is a perfect size and looks good. It is easy to pair and I love the notification it gives when a personal code is used. I do wish it came in a white color. Also, you have to push the August logo button after entering the PIN. I would prefer it just unlock when the PIN was entered. I would rather tell my friend, just enter 1234 to unlock my door. Not enter 1234 and then press the big button on the bottom with the red symbol on it.
