WARNING: DANGEROUS
Would Not RecommendWhile attempting to auger a hole for a plant, the bit hit a root and ripped the tool out of my grasp. One handle snapped around with such force it caused a significant laceration. I’m a 210 pound guy and it was ripped from my hands.

Beware!! No Customer Support
Would Not RecommendThe auger started right up but turned at a high speed at idle. Informed Thunderbay of the problem and received e-mail saying they would contact me or I could call After-Sale Support. Never received any contact after that and no response to 10 messages left at main number and 3 messages each to Aubrey and Rory. Unfortunately waiting for their reply put me outside Lowes 30 day return policy so now I am stuck with a $250.00 boat anchor or I can pay a small engine repair to fix it.

Excellent Auger
Would RecommendEasy to start, easy to use, nice and powerful. Had to do some post hole digging and this auger did a great job. We went down about 30 inches and this machine could have definitely gone deeper with ease. Chewed through roots and everything else no problem.
Good power for its size.
Would RecommendGood power to weight ratio. The gearbox is a little loud but keeps on drilling. It will handle smaller roots (pine) with ease. Have dug nearly 200 fence posts now and still going strong.

Not enough horse power for price
Would Not RecommendNot as strong as advertised, tried to return, couldn’t do it at Lowe’s, have been trying to reach out to the supplier for two weeks with no response.. looks like I just wasted $300+ dollars

wont honor warranty
Would Not RecommendI purchased this product and did not use it immediately. When I did assemble and use it for the first time, and it immediately broke after digging 9 holes in soft sandy soil, it was outside the warranty period ( by a few days) and the store refused to honor their warranty, referring me to the manufacturer who also refused. the motor would not turn off and it was dangerously spinning out of control. When I finally got it to stop I noticed that the plastic protective grid outside the exhaust burn...
nice tool
Would Recommendthis little auger works great, I have some pretty hard ground here but no problem for this thing

Worked great, exceeded expectations.
Would RecommendI was concerned this auger wouldn't be enough, but it did awesome. Did 35 holes, thru roots. After using a grinder to put a good sharp edge on the removable blade, it cut thru just about everything. I did have to use a Sawzall or ax on a few big roots, about the size of my wrist or so. Use it smart and patiently. Clean, fresh gas. Keep the blade sharp. You don't have to run it wide open. Don't push down on it, let its own weight do the work.

Worked Like a Champ🏆
Would RecommendHas lots of power and made the fence job easy. Starts first pull after warmed up. Great Deal and came with an 8" auger that I needed. Not a 6"
Good for small jobs. Get a bigger end piece
Would Not RecommendIt doesn’t have enough torque for big jobs. The holes are too small when trying to plant trees.

underpowered, difficult to start
Would Not RecommendThis unit seems to be built reasonably well as far as the handles, gearbox, and auger bit are concerned. However, after using it for about 3 weeks, I found it to be underpowered and extremely difficult to start when the engine is hot/warm. No problems with cold starts. Cannot recommend for most applications.
Great product poor customer service at pickup
Would RecommendWhile the product is great getting it picked up at the store was a hassle. Glad I bought it as it’s made putting the fence in my backyard up so much easier. Going to use for a hole for my rose garden soon

Works Well in Certain Soil
Would RecommendIt works fine in good soil, can dig a 2 foot deep hole in 1-2 minutes. In clay, it is worthless. Small rocks aren’t much of an issue, but larger rocks, and roots makes it a rough go.
