I recently tried using the 43-cc 1-man Auger Powerhead for my fencing project, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. It quickly became apparent that its performance didn't match up to expectations. The auger struggled to penetrate hard soil, requiring excessive effort and frequent pauses. This made the process much more labor-intensive than anticipated. Another issue was the auger’s size. It wasn’t wide enough to create the depth needed for secure fence posts, forcing me to dig deeper ma...

Amazing auger!

Wow! This thing is a beast at digging holes! I just got done doing 10 holes and I'm super impressed with the power and performance of this machine! Started right up on second pull. Powers through and makes holes very straight and accurate. No issues using this as a single person and I think using two people would actually make it harder to operate. It does have considerable power but its not as intimidating as I had thought. I dug small starter holes as some others had suggested and that was a g...

I purchased this auger because because l'm replacing the front and back decks on my house. I have issues with both of my shoulders that makes it really hard to use post hole diggers. This auger has been blessing. My son and l had the holes for the new back deck drilled in no time at all. That deck is now done and l can't wait to start on the front one! Just going to wait till it gets cooler. Lol

Helps get the job done quickly

Handy tool for putting in fence post. It started right up and had plenty of power to get the job done. The shock spring helped when I hit roots.

Gets the job done for a decent price

Unit is light and easy to move and position. When digging the auger can easily be stopped by relatively small rocks 4 inch diameter by 1 inch thick. The sudden stoppage of the auger bit causes the motor to spin which tries to break your hands, wrists and arms. Rocks and tree roots will have to be dug out manually. Also, there is no way to reverse the auger rotation so you have to make sure you constantly lift the machine up and down to clear your loose dirt from the hole because you can't ba...

Thunderbay auger works great!

My Thunderbay power auger combo is a great tool. I followed the starting instructions and it started right up. The engine is strong! plenty of power. I drilled several holes for my fence post. The shock absorber spring worked great when I hit roots or rocks. I would recommend the Thunderbay auger.

Decent Auger with 2 major problems

The auger does a great job, but inhave 2 major issues with this tool. 1. There are screws directly on the grip, whatever genius thought this was a good place to put screws needs to go run this tool for 3-4 hours. 2. The throttle cable guards are not fixed and tend to back out. This leads to the throttle getting stuck open. So you have to carefully watch that they are fully instered, this is a really important part of the start up procedure as starting the auger with the throttle wide open is pre...
