What Customers Are Saying
The Zinsser oil-based primer appears to be an effective product for covering and sealing a variety of surfaces, including stains, wood grains, and difficult areas. Customers reported that it provides excellent coverage, adhesion, and sandability, making it suitable for use on walls, ceilings, cabinets, furniture, and exterior wood. Many found it to be a reliable and time-saving option compared to other primers or stripping methods, despite the strong odor of the oil-based formula.

great sealer
Would RecommendUsed on bookshelf project with MDF to seal before applying water based paint (a must). Covers and dries well and cleanup with paint thinner. I like acrilic latex paint but this is a must with MDF board to keep the fibers from swelling and expanding. Better than Kilz.

Truly covers
Would RecommendTruly covers the walls. Also helps keep paint on trailer walls. Smell is stout however I dump a 5ml of young living oil in 1 gal and mix well to kill smell out.

excellent
Would Not Recommendgreat bonding primer. covers very well. seals, etc etc. it takes longer than the claimed dry time in 90% of circumstances when using. If dry time on labeling where accurate I'd given 5 stars. I work for my self painting cabinets and refurbishing furniture. The specs on this site have an X/no for use on cabinets. That is also 100% inaccurate
