Great purchase

Worked well just as advertised. emptied a 16 ft shallow well in less then an hour about 3,000 gal.

Didn't get to use it

Head's up, this requires a pretty deep crock to work. My crock was too shallow and would be overflowing before the float was high enough to activate the pump.

Not adequate for my needs

Unit did not operate properly as I installed it into a grey water holding tank in my basement for our basement sink. Float needed to be in the almost upright position before turning on and my tank did not have enough room for this pumps design. I thought I could get it to work for my situation but had no luck.

Made it through the warranty

1 year warranty. Made it one year and 21 days. The impeller cut the housing off.

didn't last 5 months

gasket in middle of pump housing blowing water out everywhere, when pumping. simple application pumping water after rain from under house by the lake. Fitted in a sump pit with check valve. maybe it froze over super cold winter???? I will try to return it tomorrow. Bought a more expensive pump from Lowes....fingers crossed. bought in December dead in May lets see what the warranty on product is worth.

Sump Pump

The products was as described and easy to install. I would recommend and would buy again. At this date it has no con. The pro are it runs quiet and it fast removing the water.

Float design is terrible

The float design keep the float basically horizontal, taking up a lot of room. If you don't adjust it, it simply sticks to the side of the sump pit and does not activate the pump. As bad is the reverse- it sticks while in the up position and does not let the pump shut off when the water is gone. If you adjust it too short, it simply will not have enough leverage to activate the pump. After a few tries, I got the length perfect and it does work now though I watch it. Works okay, but there IS an issue......

Pumps a lot of water, but there IS a big problem. If you don't mind the fact that you will have at least one foot of standing water both before it actually pumps, and after it has pumped. Were there a way to alter the on/off switching, it would be fine. Sans that feature, it's not so great. To make matters worse, I bought this on the advice of a Lowe's employee who obviously didn't really know what he was talking about, since this is not the right pump for the described requirements.

Perfect for my needs

Needed a small sump pump for removing the water from under our house. This unit was perfect for what I needed. Works like a charm.

Long story short, if you need a sump pump and noise of operation isn't a concern, this seems to be a good pump. For me, it's next to my bedroom in the unfinished portion of the basement and it wakes me up all night over the white noise I use to block out sounds. Pump works, so that's a plus. Far louder than the one I had before.

found this sump pump easy to install. did not need to do too much adjustment to the floatation device. It was very easy to adjust.

Mixed feelings

I bought this a replacement for a pump that failed. The base is plastic but heavy enough to keep it upright. The pump is strong and will move water quickly. The downside and the reason I returned this pump is the float switch. As the water level rose, the switch had a tendency to get caught on the flanges for the housing. If you look at the picture you can see where the screws are located and that they stick out about 3/8" from the body. The motor had stayed on even without water present due to ...
