good little pump

I bought this to replace a pump that died. I should have looked at the box closer because when I got it home it said it required a 16" deep sump and mine was only 13". Luckily I was able to shorten the length of the float to make it work. I live in a rural area close to a creek, the basement is always wet, so the pump gets a workout. Had it about a month with no problems so far.

Good for light use

Easy to install. But it being in a basement that floods in hrs without electric in the house. So the pumps runs all day long. I got 1 yr out of it so for the price it's not bad. If you don't want to replace every year buy SS sump pump with a replaceable float switch. You get what you pay for.

Simple to install

Replaced my old one in just five minutes. The pump came with a reducer and made the exchange quick and easy. The pump is very quiet too!

Basic Economy Sump PUmp

I discovered - the hard way - my sump pump had quit working one night when we have torrential rains and I found my basement flooded. The sump pump was not working and I needed something quick. This was the first one I could get my hands on quickly to install easily myself. Although it's not high quality and I don't expect it to last several years, it does the job for a decent price.

Seems OK

I replaced a Little Giant 1/3-HP pump with this one. It pumps the liquid out of a below-ground septic system liquid tank (not the main tank) and through a 200-foot buried 1-1/2" line. It does the job, but not as strong and fast as the Little Giant was. Since it is an all plastic case, I hope it will last without rust and corrosion that finally finished off the cast iron Little Giant. I also would rather have a different float than comes with this one, as it allows the water level to stay higher ...

Unilitech float?

Purchased on 3-6-2016,my old pedestal died,so I decided to give this a try my basement sump is 16x16 sump 22" deep the float doesn't kick on till it's about full ,I played a good part of the day trying to get the float right pumps fast unsure about float

A nice suprise

I bought this Utilitch pump after already having a 3 years old back up Utilitch pump that never failed me. I installed this 0.33HP in my newly made sump pit. The sump basin was wide enough to let the float run its full length. The pump is only running once a day at this point, and is running very quietly. Just love it.

Terrible

Do not purchase!! The bulb on the pump does not float. Even after following the measurement requirements!

Utilitech 0.33-HP Sump Pump

Was the perfect replacement for my old corroded burnt out aluminum sump pump. Simple as unscrewing the 1 1/2 pipe out of the old pump and into this pump...right length. Cord was even longer on this new unit so no problem reaching receptacle.

Its Doing the Job

This pump was easy to install. Included everything needed. I was disappointed that Lowe's only carried pumps made in China !

Bad Design

I bought this submersible sump pump a week ago and will be returning it. When at the store and faced with a choice between this pump and a similar pump, i asked a sales associate the difference and he said there wasn't one except a $60 price difference. I took this one/cheaper and learned you get what you pay for. The problem that we have experienced is 1) it doesn't always run when it should. if you jiggle it it will then start up, not good when the pit is overflowing. 2) Secondly, the poor des...

Great value for the money

Have installed many of these over recent years with great success!

Junk

If you like replacing often this is the one for you, it's easy to install which is great since they only last a few months. Most times Lowe's will replace it with no problems but it gets old cleaning up from another failed unit, longest I got one to last was 6 months and that was cause I replaced the float after 2.

Useing for Koi pond pump replacement.

So far it's working great. If filter gets clogged, pump shuts off. Running for several hour a day.

Float failed after one week

Float Switch ball failed first week, or design is a failure. Small ball inside float switch will stick in both the open and closed position. Poor design or lack of lube during production. Don't by this unit

Utilitech 1/3 HP Submersible Sump Pump

So far so good. Unit is quite. I was able to use the same PVC that screwed in the old pump and attach to the Check valve without changing the length of the PVC. EASY PEASY!! Good value for $100 after the 5% discount. Now time will be the true test. Though our well does not get a lot of water unless it is really raining out.

Product very good

The pump work much better than I though. The size makes it easy to use and pump lots of water.

Different than previous pumps purchased

This is the third 1/3 Hp Utilitech pump I've purchased. Typical life is 3-5 years which is disappointing but at $100 per pump it's the besr option I've found to keep a swimming pool dry over the winter. This pump, while still a 1/3 Hp unit, is much lighter duty. The casing is now plastic instead of cast iron and the motor is smaller dimensionally. Time will tell how well it holds up. It functions identical to previous pumps.

Float is not realiable

The float does not work reliably after just over 1 year of use. I was lucky to spot that the sump was almost full. I shook the float, it started the pump. I am looking for a replacement pump now.
