Base broke off in socket!

Would Not Recommend

Didn't work at all! Then when I tried unscrewing it from the lamp, base of bulb broke off in socket. Cheap thin metal base is poorly attached to plastic housing. Returned it, and next time will go with another brand.

Going Green is Good

I live in Japan and currently I have to conserve as much energy as I possible can considering that some of our Nuclear Power Plant here are being shut down for safety purposes. After the tsunami in Fukuoka, Sendai, Tepco (Tokyo Electric Company) had got authorization from Japanese Congress to raise electric bills 20% to help pay off astronomical dept and to have ability to survive as a company. I just installed them and time will tell if this helps out with the next few electrical bills. Over a...

LED GADGET GURU

Would Recommend

I'm glad to finally see LED lighting for home applications become mainstream. My only problems with them is the price and only emitting light in 180 degrees. I only bought one for novelty purposes because of the price. The LED's are only about 1/3 more efficient than a CFL lamp but cost 10-20X more. I haven't done the calculating but I guess it would take a few years for them to pay for themselves Vs. CFL's paying for themselves in the first month of use. If I were to build a house I would def g...

Nuclear Reactor Bright

Would Recommend

I don't know how long this bulb is going to last before it burns out, but it is noticeably-brighter than a 60W incandescent that is about halfway through its lifetime. If you're going to do a "ceiling fan chain" side-by-side comparison, don't point this one at you when you turn it on. This bulb is heavier in weight than a standard glass bulb, and the base is aluminum; you should keep this in-mind if you intend it for a flimsy floor lamp.

MY MOTHER LOVES THESE LED LIGHT BULBS

Would Recommend

I BOUGHT 2 OF THESE LAMPS FOR MY MOTHERS OUTSIDE LIGHTS. SHE LEAVES THEM ON ALL NIGHT AND SHE LOVES THEM. I AM GOING BACK TO GET 6 MORE FOR THE REST OF HER OUTSIDE LIGHTS AND IT WILL HELP REDUCE HER ENERGY USEAGE PER MONTH, THAT IS THE PART I LIKE!

Flicker 1st day of use

Would Not Recommend

The lights are working fine and give a decent amount of light over the kitchen bar in the cable lights when the dimmer is set to 100%. They put out much less heat than the incandescence that were in the fixture plus they are very close the light output of the 40 watt bulbs the were in it. LED's are still very pricey. Save your receipt, you may need it. It has a Two Year Warranty that must be returned to the store. Attached image taken with iPhone 3G. #338802 450 Series A19 450 Lumens Rated at...

8 out of 10 still work

Would Not Recommend

Purchased 10 bulbs in May of 2011, two have now stopped working. Light color is great, bulb design ok. A real toss up since they keep dying out. Make sure you have CFL's to back up these. Works on newer electronic timers - watch voltage requirement for timer.

Excellent product

Would Recommend

I looked at all of the reviews with mixed feelings. I purchased 2 initially while they were on sale $10 each. I was so happy with them that I decided to buy 4 more, they have been running strong and are perfect in our kitchen. The flood light bulbs that they replaced put out alot of heat, these are hardly noticeable at all. The light output is fantastic, have been going strong for 6 months with no issues. one possiblity that some customers are having their lights burned out, is due to enclos...

Bulb failed within 2 months

Would Not Recommend

I purchased two of these bulbs. I infrequently use them (maybe .5hr/day) in my bedroom. Within 2 months of light use one of the bulbs failed completely. I returned it to Lowe's as the warranty is for in-store exchange only. They gave me a Sylvania 40W instead. The bulb itself was fine while it worked- instant on if a little pinkish in its light and directional.

Happy Buyer

Would Recommend

After looking for an inexpensive LED light that could dim I ran across this light. Third times a charm because it dose everything it says: it has a nice soft white color and dims perfectly.

Caution - New Technology

Would Not Recommend

I bought three of these and installed them in the bathroom open air fixture. The light quality is very good though it may be a bit on the purple hue side. Two of the three are still working perfectly, but one burned out after only about two months. That is way to early for an $18.00 bulb.

Amazing value with one strange quirk

Would Recommend

I have yet to see an LED-based light that was bright and inexpensive. This bulb is both. The one negative is that the metal base gets quite warm, which seems odd to me when one of the major points against incandescents is that they generate waste heat. I guess the design of these does some kind of voltage resistance and sinks the heat into the metalic collar. It's a very bad design, but it might be the reason these are inexpensive. I'd gladly buy a bulb at 2 or 3 times this price ($10 each for t...

Only if you need a Flash light

Would Not Recommend

Only buy this product if you are looking to put light north!!! It projects no light down in your lamp or on the floor.

Terrible.

Would Not Recommend

I'm truly disappointed in this light bulb. I had expected the light to be something relatively close to a "soft white" incandescent bulb, and it turns out that I was completely mistaken. This bulb produces a greenish light reminiscent of a hospital room.

Poor Quality

Would Not Recommend

I purchased 2 of these bulbs at Lowes on sale. I can't use toxic CFL's because I have a dimmer. I got about 2 months use out of them and one of the bulbs flickered and stopped working. $9 dollars down the drain. I guess I'll have to invest in a higher quality brand name. Be sure to keep your receipt when you buy these lights.

Medium quality

Would Not Recommend

I was told that I could save a ton of money by swithching my current light bulbs to LEDs, so thats what I did. I saw this LED bulb at a reasonable price so I went ahead and bought ten (half of what i needed to replace my entire house). When I opened the package to install the bulbs, I realized how poorly constructed these bulbs were. I only installed a couple to test the quality. Everything was fine for a coulple of weeks. Then one started to turn on and off at random. A week later another one j...

Best LED bulb I've found yet

Would Recommend

I just got a bunch of these at the sale price of $9.98, making it one of the best priced LED bulbs I've found considering the light output. Like most others, I think the 430 lumens stated on the package has to be wrong; they seem more comparable to a 50-60-watt incandescent. I replaced two 19-watt CFL's in my guest bath with these and noticed only a slight difference in brightness. I replaced three CFL's with these in my master bathroom, and the difference is more negligible. They put out almost...

I purchased a dozen when they went on sale. A little dim but instant on even in cold situations compared to cfl's and there is a bit less energy use and when the kids leave the lights on I don't mind due to the low energy use. Maybe a few years these will be more affordable. Cool to the touch but the aluminum base does get warm to hot.

Price competitive option

Would Recommend

Not as bright as 12w LED bulb but I can get 4 for the price. I have a lot of ceiling fans that take 4 bulbs but I only use 2 18w CFL's to be bright enough. With 4 of these, it's plenty bright and instant on--no more annoying dim warm up time unlike the CFL's. Only time will tell if product life is as represented.
