Would RecommendI have 7 of these now and really like them. If I had a good dimmer, they would be even better. (My dimmers are awful). The light is soft and seems to be much brighter than our old 40w CFLs. I just ordered two more as gifts. (New Years gifts)! Cheers, Rich
Excellent!
Would RecommendThis bulb is awesome for an LED bulb and you can't beat the price! Low heat, instant light, and VERY efficient! I have LEDs bulbs in many places in my house, my pinball and arcade machines, and in all three of my cars. LEDs rock and are here to stay! I do hope prices continue to come down in the states as you can buy many LED bulbs over seas for a lot less, downside is the wait for shipping. But again, this bulb is at a great price, better or the same as over seas and no wait!
Good technology - much safer than CFLs
Would RecommendBought two to try them. They are much sturdier than CFLs, produce a more pleasant light, come on instantly, and dim across their full range. An excellent buy. Seem much brighter than comparable wattage-rating bulbs. Just bought four more.
Failed after one year
Would Not RecommendPurchased this light bulb around the holidays last year. It was great until it burned out recently. It lasted barely a year. The bulb only had light to moderate use. Even though it is a low end LED, the cost was still around $10. Not enough value to last only a year. I recommend to steer clear from this product.
Working well in my chicken house's
Would RecommendMy first purchace was on 11-11-11. I got along very well on my first batch of birds. They dim perfect all the way to 20% and I am running them 16 to 24 hours a day. I went back and bought fourty more on 12-16-11 and 12-17-11 also had to go to more then one Lowe's to fill my order. I plan on replaceing all my bulbs with this product.
I've got five of these LED bulbs
Would RecommendGot these for the 5 lamp fixture over the dinner table. They work great, but my dimmer stinks! I've used three different dimmers and none works right. Every little drop in line voltage dims/blinks the LEDs! Turn on a TV, they blink turn on the radio, they blink. Plus, all the noise on the AC lines can be seen on a partly lit LED. When the LEDs are not set to full power, you really notice a lot of blinking.. I think people using their toasters on my street are blinking these LEDs.. Full power is ...
Failed after a couple of months
Would Not RecommendThe bulb worked fine for a few months and then just quit working. It was installed in a light fixture with plenty of ventilation and was not installed with a dimmer. It should have lasted many years but failed after a few months.
Really cool bulb; I mean REALLY COOL!
Would RecommendI was looking for a replacement bulb for a desk lamp. This one gives me MORE than enough light at a 40 watt rating. And it's cool to the touch. Would like to try it as a night light in the garage. Hope to get my money's worth out of this bulb. All tings considered, it's a good buy if it lasts as long as it's touted.
Decent but not perfect
Would Not RecommendGreat value at $12.98 and it produces a nice white light. It's also definitely dimmable. However it doesn't product much of a glow or light under a lamp. It shoots about 90% of the light around and above with minimal light underneath. I got these for the bedside table lamps but I think I will return them in favor or a warmer light and one that produces more light underneath like the Phillips bulb design.
Lightbulb failed after less than 2 months
Would Not RecommendI bought this light bulb on September 17, 2011. It burned out on November 11, 2011. Luckily, I'd saved my receipt and returned it for a refund. Bought the Sylvania brand bulbs instead. Not all LED bulbs are alike. I would not recommend this brand, given the expense.
No Energy Star, No Problem
Would RecommendGreat lighting for any room! I would recommend this over the 60-watt equivalent due to the nice, soft, warm, and crisp light it puts out. We are on a budget, so we are purchasing one per pay-check to replace the compact fluorescent. We hope to see a reduction in our power consumption based upon the energy ratings of the product! Fits most or our lamps and ceiling lights with ease!
40w LED for $12.98... AWE-SOME!
Would RecommendI bought this, because it was the cheapest 40w LED bulb available. Figured I'd give it a go. My last experience with LED's are some little Feit 1.2w candelabra bulbs that are next to worthless in our chandelier. All 8 bulbs don't even put out the light of one 40w bulb (and cost me about $70-$80 for all 8 of them), but only use 9.8w of power (just under 1/4th of one 40w bulb), so I'm happy about that, but... our dining room is "mood lighting" mostly. :-D This 7.5w = 40w deal is REALLY nice! It'...
Short life span
Would Not RecommendGo the the bulb as low energy altenative for my bedroom. The price looked good for an LED. The lamp only lasted about two months
I'm very satisfied so far.
Would RecommendI bought a total of about 50 of these when they were on sale this summer for about 10 dollars. Got rid of every CFL in the house and gave to my neighbor. All of them are still working fine. The lighting is, in my opinion, better than the CFLs. I like the instant on. Can't compare with incandescent since I haven't used one of those in over 10 years. Its probably too early to tell but my average KW-hrs used so far (averaged over the last 4 months) is averaging 100 kw-hrs/month less than this same ...
Light is directional and very white....
Would Not RecommendThese cant be used in an enclosed ceiling fixture, read the box before buying, I ended up putting them in a hallway ceiling can fixture replacing CFL's......if the light was 27000k they would be great but the light is very white, harsh, and directional directly down.....They stay mostly cool and dont use much power.... My search for a good 60W LED lamp continues......
Lasted 2 weeks
Would Not RecommendLowes had this at a great price, 12.98, unbelievable for a 40 watt equivalent LED bulb. Brought it home, put it into a kitchen socket. The light is brighter, more white than a typical incandescent bulb, so we weren't sure if we'd get used to it. But, after a week or so, we learned to like that it had zero warm-up time, unlike the fluorescent spots we have in the kitchen. But another week later, it just quit working. No sign of imminent failure, it just quit. It has a 2 year guarantee from the m...
its life is short
Would Not RecommendI purchased 12 of them about 3 months ago and they were used about 5 hour a day 4 days a week. 2 of the twelve already need to be replaced because of their short life. I hope the only these 2 had problems.
I have been waiting for the price to come down
Would RecommendI bought one of these the last time they were on sale at Lowe’s to try it at $9.99. They are nice when you want the light directed up when in the vertical position, E.g. (The night stand lamp in the bed room when you want the light directed up and out of your eyes while lying in bed). They work well directing light down as well, or for that matter in any direction you would like the light to be directed. It would be nice to see an omnidirectional lamp as well on sale. They would be nice on an en...
GOING GREEN BROKE ME
Would Not RecommendGOT TWO LEDPAR20 THAT WHAT THE RANGE HOOD CALLED FOR. ONE STOPPED WORKING AFTER AN HOUR AND OTHER JUST BLINKS. GIVE ME THE OLD LIGHTS THEY WORK. THIS GREEN STUFF IS JUNK. FOR $44 DOLLARS I CAN BUY A LOTS OF THE OLD INCONDENSE BULDS
Great LED
Would RecommendPurchased this just to try it out and see what all the LED hype is about. It is actually very bright and doesn't effect my ability to see or read. The light is also softer (hard to explain) and perfect for bathrooms where I don't want to be blinded in the morning. Only con is that it is a little bit heavy if you have a junky and or weak lighting fixture.
