Great deal for led light bulb

Would Recommend

It's not so light since it's only 40W, but it won't make you dazzle either. However, it's hotter than I expected, but the energy consumption divided by lumen is almost the same to the CFL. The only benefit it left might be the long usage hours and no UV and Infrared which attract bugs.

Looks Great

Would Recommend

This provides lots of great bright light. I love the daylight color. I did try to put two bulbs in an enclosed fixture for about 30 minutes. Then I took the cover off and felt the aluminum heatsinks on the bulbs. They were extremely hot! I decided that these bulbs were better left in lamps and unenclosed fixtures as the directions state.

Just the fact that there is no mercury in the bulbs sold me. I won't know about durability. The bulb seemed pretty well constructed.

Gives off plenty of light

Would Recommend

I got these on sale for around $9 each. I wish I purchased more at that price. They give off plenty of light and its close to the same Kelvin as a regular bulb. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to help lower their electric bill. I hope in the future that energy saving items like this become cheaper. Even a $9, its pricy compared to a regular bulb. It will pay for its self in the end.

Best 40-Watt Equivalent That I have tried

This LED bulb has a warmer light and greater light output than others with similar quoted statistics.

Good value for LED light

Would Recommend

This light puts out more light than I expected. Instant on is nice. Cool operating temperature. None of my dimmers worked well with the bulb. Only one dimmer worked over partial dim range. The most common dimmer problem was the bulb flashing full on to full off at about once/second. Still, I was so pleased with lights that I purchased 15 to replace the most used bulbs in the house.

Slight problem when used with inverter

Would Recommend

I bought several of these to be used in my weekend cabin. This cabin has a small solar installation with a modified sine wave inverter. The low power requirements are great in this setting. The lights work fine, but cause a loud static on my radio. I suspect this has to do with the inverter as the same LED bulb did not have the problem when I tried it at home. I can use these bulbs in areas not likely to be used when the radio is wanted. But it is a small problem.

Very bright bulbs

Would Recommend

I put 4 of these bulbs in both my ceiling fans (living room and kitchen) and it turned out to be way to bright, I had to go and purchase 4 1.5 watt bulbs to swap some out with so I could wander through the house at night and not be blinded. I was replacing 4 standard 13.5 watt CFL bulbs in both. This of course left me with 4 more bulbs to disperse around the house and caused me to pop out to a Lowes loction 50 miles away to pick up 6 more of the bulbs. I am looking forward to my total KWH to s...

Excellent, inexpensive LED bulb

Would Recommend

I really like these light bulbs. They don't give off too much heat (obviously at 7W or so, there's not much to give off). The light is very bright and somewhat directional, but far less so than competitors' bulbs. We use them primarily in the light fixture component of our ceiling fans, and they work spectacularly well for $10 bulbs. I've installed 6 of them so far and been very happy with the results. It's not as soft of a white light as the 2700K incandescents, but it's very good for office an...

1st LED light you can use to actually see

Would Recommend

This light has an output value of 450 Lumens. The amazing part of it is, that it actually does not shine in a two by two inch circle like most. It is a wide dispersion pattern as if it were an incandescent light and has the same yellow soft tone without the space ship tight blue dot usually found in LED 120 volt lights. Would be qualified as a flood light type and not a narrow focus. I have previously purchased 25 to 40 different types of LED lights. To make it even more a need as a light, it is...

More than it seems

Would Recommend

Bought one to try it out, since then bought nine more. Much brighter than 40 W -closer to 50W plus. However very directional so works well in the direction its mounted but not so well to the sides. Buying these as fast as I can afford them to replace my 40, 50, and 60W CFLs...

40 watt utilitech LED bulb

Would Not Recommend

Im the type that likes to save money even if i have to spend a little extra to make a large savings. When the CFL bulbs came out i bought several and to just see how long they last i would write the date on the base of the bulb to get an idea of how long they last and if its comparible to factory expected life. So, on that note i bought two utilitech LED bulbs at the original sale price of $18 a piece. As before i wrote on the base the date installed which was april 6, 2011. Today it went out. N...

Good Value So Far

Would Recommend

I have three of these lights in use. I purchased one just to play with, I replaced a CFL that is always turned on, after three months of 24x7 it seems to be working out very well. I purchased two more a month ago and they are also working without an issue. I am not real happy with the CFLs which do not last nearly as long as claimed and the enviromnental issues of these bulbs bug me. At less than $10 each these a really a good value.

Best LED Value I've seen yet

Would Recommend

I've been on the hunt for good LED technology for some time now. I live in a Smart home with lighting controls, automated dimmers on every light, etc; Up until now I've relied on Incandescent because CFL and LED haven't been compatible; and the ones that claimed to be tended to flicker and flash at low dim levels. I bought 15 of these to tame some expensive chandeleirs and am very happy. They have a good color (a little brighter than the incandescents they replaced - not quite as "warm" - but s...

This bulb is a good bulb...

Would Recommend

For the price that Lowes is charging currently for this bulb (<$10), it is a steal. I bought 14 the other day and I'm going to buy another 14 tomorrow. The bulb quality is decent, not much different than other brands. The light color is great (nice warmth). The lumen output seems underrated. They seem much brighter than the 50W PAR20 halogens that they are replacing. Reliability remains to be seen but, for the price, I'm taking the risk.

Initial quality far exceeded my expectations

Would Recommend

I have been hesitant to buy LED's since my last investment in them involved a recall and half of them burning out in 3-6 months. After reading the great reviews I decided $10 was worth a shot. I have many ceiling can lights so the 180 degree light spray is perfect. These are brighter than my 60 watt equivalent CFLs that are a few years old and burn out really quickly. I bought 8 to use in my most often lit areas. I also used 1 in a dark, busy bathroom to replace a CFL. LEDS are much better to us...

Unbeatable LED bulb!

Would Recommend

I went into the local Lowe's for some other items and saw a display for these bulbs on sale. I couldn't resist testing one out for under $10 (w/o tax), so I picked one up. Works GREAT, & in my opinion rivals even some 60w bulbs on the market. The BEST part other than its lifespan, is the fact it only uses 7.5w!!!
