Brighter than my 15W CFL!

Would Recommend

First I want to say what a great value they are. I tried LEDs 6 years ago and they were definitely not ready for prime time, but after seeing them at a local sustainability convention decided to try them again. The reviews seem very accurate as they are much brighter than I expected. The light is a little more directional due mostly to the fact that the LEDs are mounted near the top of the bulb and the globe is smaller. I noticed much more light in the bathroom with downward facing fixtures, but...

Exactly what I was looking for.

Would Recommend

It's really bright, looks amazing and uses only 7.5W. What else could I wish for in a bulb. Highly recommended.

Good, with some reservations...

Would Recommend

There are two limitations associated with this product which people should keep in mind. First, LED is fairly directional, and these lights are no exception. They will shine light, for the most part, straight away from the bulb. This means they are not good for filling out a lamp, or in a chandelier, for example, they will shine light in one direction and due to the metal housing they will look a little unusual in clear fixtures. Second, and this was my biggest disappointment: the actual warmth ...

Great bulb great price

Would Recommend

I bought 6 of these on sale for $10. In several dimmers, they dim exactly like an incandescent, can dim without flicker down to barely glowing! Much better than CFL dimmables. As others have stated, these are brighter than a 40w incandescent, nearly 60w. Not perfect for all situations, as most of the light is radiated upward, a fair amount sideways, and almost none downward. But as for lighting a small or medium-sized room, yep, they do it just fine! Fins get quite warm after operation, which is...

$10 LED - waiting for $5 LED...

Would Recommend

Bought 2 at the new downtown Lowes in SF. Brighter than the normal 40W CFL - warm yellow. Instant on - unlike CFL. Directional (on a table lamp the bottom half will feel dim unless you have reflectors). The metal base warms up over time as it dissipates heat - this is normal. Light stays cool. 20 years if you use it 3 hours a day. Expect less than 10 years if you keep your lights on all night. Hope this is durable and long lasting. Everything is China made these days, but if they sourced it well...

I paid $10 each for them and it'll pay for itself after a few years.

Nice bulb!

Would Recommend

Just picked one up at Lowes...and like others have said, it's almost equivalent to my 60W CFL. I use it in a desktop lamp with a shade so it doesn't really show the bulb though I think it looks cool. And not using it to dim, so can't comment on that feature. If it came down in price more, I'll buy a bunch for the entire house!

Can't beat this for less than ten bucks on sale!

Would Recommend

I can only hope these bulbs last as long as advertised. CFL bulbs often last only a fraction of their advertised life. It will take a while to recoop, even at ten bucks a piece. But the time saved on changing light bulbs makes it worthwhile. It's whitish and not yellowish warm colored.

Cheap LED Bulb w/ Questionable Quality

Would Not Recommend

Bought 20 of these and installed 10 for now. After less than 1 hour of use, one bulb already failed. Light looks slightly yellowish, but all look reasonably bright for 40W bulbs. Save your receipt and bulb packaging just in case you need to take advantage of the product warranty.

Awesome

Features - Yes they dim & they turn on fast..thats great Value - I spent $10 a bulb.. we shall see, if they last long, great value.. They feel really heavy and well build, usually thats a good sign. Much better I am sure than the cheap models. The dim is awsome... Can go from 100% down to 1% Design - They look pretty sweet. The silver base is slick. Quality - Seem really good. I would agree, they seem much brighter than a 40watt.. easily the quality of a 60 watt. By far the only LED I ever fo...

Kill-A-Watt Measurements

Would Recommend

For those of you interested to know the actual wattage this bulb uses I am measuring 6.1 Watts on my Kill-A-Watt meter. The Home Depot Bulb measures about 6.5 watts for the same A19 bulb priced at 20 bucks. The light off this bulb is very bright. It is definitely a bit more directional as are all LED bulbs. I hope the lumen to watt efficiency gets higher with future LED bulbs.

WHAT A DEAL, BRIGHTER THAN 40 WATTS !!!!!!

Would Recommend

I have several LED lights throughout my home and have paid way more than this bulb. I bought 36 of these at LOWES today at $9.98 a piece .Although i wanted the cool white, they only came in soft white. To my surprise these were not yellow at all and still had a very pleasant cool white color. They were brighter than the 40 watt bulbs i replaced, which is rare when it comes to LED bulbs..... The best deal on LED's so far !!!!!

Outstanding results

Would Recommend

I bought 2 of these LED bulbs to replace 2 CFL bulbs, the CFL bulbs I replaced are rated 40w @ 13w usage compared to the LED bulb 40w @ 6.5w usage, I replaced the den lamp bulb with the LED bulb and no one noticed the change until I mentioned that I had just changed out for the LED bulb. also changed one of the bathroom light CFL bulbs as a comparison, the 40w LED bulb seems brighter then the compared 40w CFL bulb. the picture shown is the LED bulb on the right. I also tried the LED bulb out on ...

FINALLY a true replacement for incandescents

Would Recommend

I was amazed at what a great bulb this is. I offers the brightness of a 60 watt bulb, even though it is only rated as a 40 watt replacement. And when you dim it way down, it performs just as well as an incandescent and doesn't flicker or die on the very low light setting. I will surely be buying the 10 watt replacement version of this bulb for my chandelier. I have always been an avid believer in LED's, and this bulb seals the deal. If you need an LED replacement bulb that is dimmable, this is y...

Great led light, bright!

Would Recommend

These could easily replace a 60 watt bulb let alone a 40. Bulbs hardly generate any heat either, we are slowly replacing all our bulbs with these, every bit helps and we figure if few if any of our lights generate outward heat will help cool our house in the hot humid summer months!

(Was) best deal out there

Would Recommend

Great deal, unfortunately the new lower $9.98 price only lasted about a week, then the price went back to $18.98. Apparently it was a mistake, at least that is what I was told at the local Lowes.

This is The One

Would Recommend

Over the last few years I have bought a few LED bulbs priced under $25. Older LEDs (at least the bulbs priced under $50) could not compare with incandescent and CFL. This has now changed. Mass production is finally kicking in and the early-adopter penalty is almost gone, there are some fantastic LEDs priced under $30. Imagine my surprise when I found this! Unlike an online purchase, I could return these easily if disappointed... The hallway/entryway ceiling light just outside our kitchen is pow...

Great deal for a dimmable LED

Would Recommend

Bought four of these today - and they work well on a dimmer, and are very bright - at least equivalent to 40 Watt incandescent. However, even though they say they're a "warm white," they tend to give a more white (daylight) light to me, compared at least to incandescents. I've been waiting for a good deal like this on LED A19-style bulbs, and I think they're well worth the $10 price! Much better eco-friendly option than CFL!

I've been waiting for a decent LED lightbulb!

Would Recommend

I've been waiting for a decent LED lightbulb at a decent price...this is a good color quality where my wife won't complain about it...and it puts out a decent amount of light too. It's rated for 40 watt equivalent, but in my garage, it doesn't look a whole lot different that my 75 watt GE Reveal...I also tested it in a lamp in the living room...almost too bright. With a LED bulb at this price point ($10), I can see LED lighting become much more of a reality. It appears to be well made and feels ...
