Fails

Will cause lamp to go on without touching it. Slow learner as this has happened with 3 that I bought. Very inconvenient while sleeping.

Bought this device for my touch torchier that stopped working after the bulb blew and...according to many internet postings... created a mini arc which shorted the resistor (thyristor / triac) in the lamp. Simple fix with this device? Wrong. My lamp cycles through the low-medium-high phases, but doesn't cycle to the off position anymore. Maybe my device is too old? I don't know. Very Good, but not great

This control was a replacement for one that failed after many years. Both provide the same benefit, however, the older model was more sensitive.

Only worked for a couple of days. Already returned it.

Did not work as well as expected

Tried to make our nightstand lamp into a touch lamp since we could find one we liked. The control module did not work as well as expected since I had to touch the lamp numerous times get it to turn on or change. It may work for others but it did not work in our case. Had to return it.

Really gives only two levels of brightness

The package says 3 levels of brightness, but the dimmest level is so low it's not really useful. It's so low, you might not notice the lamp is on during the day. These dimmers die after a few years, or if you have a static charge (from carpet etc) when you touch the lamp. Despite all that, a touch dimmer is convenient for lamps that have a switch awkwardly located under the shade.

Perfect Piece Of Junk

Only rated this a 5 so it will get noticed by others. If I rated it a 1 it would get buried, otherwise this junk doesn't deserve a 0, even a neg would be too high. Total garbage. Have to touch metal part of lamp at least 10 times for each light setting. Boy o boy what a convenience. Sick of all the garbag products out there. Last one I had lasted 30 years. Only lit lamp sometimes when there was lightning.

Doesn't work

Incandescent, halogen ... tried two different dimmers thinking I had a defective one. Lamp sits there and cycles on low, on medium, on high and off. Random timing. No control.

Works with at least some* LED light bulbs.

Reportedly doesn't work with all LED light bulbs, but it works with mine. Works perfect every time and was trouble free from the start. Awesome product.

Utilitech touch lamp control

I bought and plugged a metal lamp into lamp control and it worked perfectly. 3 settings then off. Worked great first time!!

Serves its purpose

Have used it for a short period. Works well. Need a metal point to touch on the lamp so it works properly. Using with an led bulb.
