Works as advertised!

I’m an amateur wood worker that tries to utilize reclaimed and discarded lumber. That being said, I get into some rough products. I used these bits on some reclaimed oak. The bits went through quickly and cleanly. Another great product from Spyder.

Stinger points makes the difference!

The stinger starting point really makes a huge difference in the precise operation of these drill bits. For average to smaller job they work great with a cordless drill however for thicker boards and post you need an electric drill for sustained power and crisp cuts. So far they have not lost their sharpness and provided they have enough power driving them they cut right through.

Excellent quality and value in a wood boring drill. Very easy for quick change out with an impact driver. I use in a Dewalt Impact Driver. Blades are very sharp and penetrate soft and hard woods very easily. This is an excellent value for your workshop.

Excellent additional drill bits

I was looking for a type of spade bit that would drill a clean hole through wood because that is what I needed it for. Solid, easy to drive

I found the Stinger Power Woodboring Auger Bits to be a set solid bits that allowed me to easily bore through my test 2x4. The tip of the bit allowed me to easily place the bit to put the whole exactly where I needed it. Drill Bit Set

My boyfriend wasn’t expecting these to be as sharp as they were. We used them for electrical and plumbing work. They’re great to have for home projects.

Solid

I can’t stand these types of packages. They shouldn’t be so hard to open. It’s 2022. That being said, the bits are good. Solid design. And so exactly what I needed them to do.

Sharp and fast drill bits

Bit are designed to fit a variety of power tools which is a nice feature, from a bit driver, battery powered drill, corded drill, and my drill press. Bits were sharp making drilling a snap with no splintering on breakouts on the backsides of work piece with no binding. These bit seem to be lighter weight than I was expecting which is nice feature when doing multiple holes with bit driver. Would recommend these bits

Well designed

The stinger power 4 piece wood boring bits are very well designed. I especially like the quick release shaft that fits perfectly in my cordless drill driver. There is no possibility of slippage as is the case of ordinary drill bits. No worries about under tightening. They bore very easily in soft wood and will probably last long before getting dull.

Stinger Power Bit Set 4-piece

As a retired lineman I have used these style bits hundreds, maybe thousands of times!! This one cuts great as long as you are drilling straight!! However, if you need to drill at an angle the guide tip is not long enough to keep the bit from walking.  Seems I am forever needing to drill at some angle, if you are like me?  This is not the bit you want.

Work as they should, good price

This review is for the Spyder Stinger Power 4-Piece Assorted x 6-1/2-in Woodboring Auger Drill Bit Set. This is a handy set, good sizes, and a good price. So far, they’re working as they should, although I didn’t find them to be any better or worse than my other auger bits. They are a better price than some.

Bit Improvement

If you have several forstner bits and many spade bits you might consider moving yhem to the bottom drawer of your tool box. These Stinger power bits are a great replacement. It is designed with a very small point, unlike the spade bit, the cutting edges are on an even plane across the diameter similar to the forstner bit allowing for smooth hole and an even bottom. Nice auger bit

This is not like other auger bits. When drilling a hole it does not try to rip your arm off. The process of drilling is nice and smooth. I drilled 2x4's and 3/4 plywood with no tear outs. You can see from the pictures that the 2x4 has a clean edge and the 3/4 plywood also has a clean edge both from the top and bottom. Fast and clean!

These four Spyder Power Bits are truly fast and clean. I used them to make a jig for sharpening my mower blades. The are precise because of the stinger tip. They are non- clogging and create clean precise holes without tearing. They are sharp too. They drill fast with reduced load on my battery drill. Well designed and efficient for one needing a lot of holes drilled in a short amount of time.

Very sharp

These are some very sharp bits. Time will tell if they keep the sharpness. They cut really well. I think they are fair priced as well, since they are rated for wood only.
