What Customers Are Saying

The product works well for removing some stripped or corroded wood screws, but may struggle with more stubborn or hard metal screws. Proper technique, such as drilling a deep pilot hole and using low RPM in reverse, is crucial for the extractor to grip the screw head effectively. The extractor size must match the screw size for best results, and in some cases the extractor bit may break or further strip the screw head.

Does Not Work!!

Would Not Recommend

Followed instructions, went very slow on the extraction. All it did was smooth out the screw. Waste of time and money.

After prepping the screw, this did not grab the screw head and ended up having to use a different tool to loosen the screw.

just didnt work

Would Not Recommend

Bought this thinking it would be a cool product for those times you need it. 3 weeks later, had a super small screw that was stripped. I followed instructions, kept at it with this thing for 15 minutes, and it just didn't work. Never bit at all.

Doesn’t work

Would Not Recommend

As I figured would happen, had a screw to take out that was stripped. This product barely drilled a hole and then never could get a good bite on screw for extract. POS! Don’t buy.

Nice tool to have

Would Recommend

Had three 3 inch long deck screws going into 4 x 4 posts. Heads stripped out while trying to remove them for maintenance. Grab-it to the rescue.. Helpful clerks at Lowes led me right to the item. It took less than 5 minutes to remove all three screws. A tip for DIYers.Be sure that you bore the hole deep enough so the extractor head has enough "bite" to grip the screw.

Use reverse and low RPMs

Would Recommend

I thought this was useless until I read the directions. Both ends are left handed. Put your drill motor in reverse (as in removing screws) and keep the RPMs low. That gives the left handed drill bit a chance to grab the screw and, often, that alone will get the screw out. If the drill bit doesn't grab, once it's drilled deep enough, use the other end (the screw end). It will grab (if you've drilled deep enough) and the screw will come out. Now I need a smaller one for a #6 screw.

Did not work

The sales person at Lowe’s said this works really well, but it did not work for me at all. Maybe the screw was too stripped. I ended up having to drill through it.

It does the job nicely! I didn’t think it would probably work but got it anyway and was able to remove three screws that had been stripped on the heads. Nice product!
