Great solution for upgrading old steps

These are just what I was looking for to upgrade and old set of stairs. I did some experiments and discovered that they are prone to warping from humidity if only one side is varnished/painted. Therefore, I put a coat of varnish on both sides before installing. I did a glue down over the existing treads using a polyurethane construction adhesive. We also installed a layer of laminate on the floor, which was approximately the same thickness as the Retro Tread, so the step height worked out we...

Great product

 Would Recommend

This is a great product for a retread job. Easy to install. Take your time prepping the new treads and your old ones and everything will go smooth. Be careful drilling into these. I did crack 2 out of 14 because i had to drill where the grain was. Wood takes stain very well. Do reccomend.
