What Customers Are Saying

Customers praise the straightforward installation, requiring no digging or concrete, and appreciate the sturdy galvanized metal construction with a professional appearance. However, many report a loose joint between the two post sections that screws alone fail to stabilize, often requiring DIY reinforcement like tape or brackets. Despite this flaw, most reviewers find the design superior to traditional methods and would repurchase. A few encountered missing parts or damaged components, but these represent minimal feedback overall.

Issue with Joining the two post parts together

I like the product design. It works well with where it had to be located. However, after putting the full post in the ground, I inserted the screws that secured the posts together. When I tighten the screws the top post rocked back and forth, not a lot, but seems to me over time something would come loose. I even used a 2x4 and hammer and hit the tip post on the top edge thinking it wasn't seated, that didn't do anything. When I assembled the unit in my house both posts fit tight together (...

Works but be careful when pounding

Would Recommend

The universal mount fit the 20-year-old mailbox from my broken old post. I chose this new post so that I wouldn't have to deal with concrete. Two weeks in and it's still standing. This post comes with two plastic caps, one to use when pounding the post into the ground and another to seal the post after installing. The instructions say to use a separate pounding block (like a piece of dense wood) "if you have hard soil". I would say you should use a separate block regardless, because if you use t...

Front or Side Mounted??? Actually Front

Would Recommend

I needed a new mailbox post - the old wooden one had rotted through below ground and broke - and this looked like a good replacement. So I got it - but never thought to see if the mailbox would be front or side mounted, as I thought they are all front mounted. Got it home and, as I opened the box I saw the pic on the box clearly showing side mounting as did the instructions and the pix in Customer Reviews. Aaarrrghh! But then I looked at the actual Support Arm and it was configured for front mou...

Not sturdy by it self

Would Recommend

You will need to buy 2 u-bolts to secure top post to bottom post. By itself it wiggles back and forth. You should also secure back of mail box to post. I had this same design post from 1994 but the metal parts were twice as thick if not more. Tree fell on it only reason I had to replace it. Things are just not made like they use to be. Think goodness ground was soft from all the rain or I may have damaged the bottom post hammering it into the ground. But look at the pics and it’s sturdy and not...

This is one piece of crap. I thought this would be pretty good but can't hammer it in the ground it just folds up. It says put in the ground 18 inches good luck with that unless you have no rocks in the ground. You put the two screw in to hold the part and weaves back and forth. I would never bought it had I known this. Just junk.

I won't buy another one.

The post has two pieces that are screwed together. The top post is a little loose and rocks forward when you pull on the mailbox to open it. It can be fixed by driving two screws at the joint of the top and bottom posts.
