Would RecommendPurchased this due to the large amount of wood that we are adding veneer edging. Works pretty well but I find it just as easy to use an exacting knife or box cutter.

Would Not RecommendBlades are not sharp enough. Corners of veneer would often chip due to the dull blade. Veneer frequently jammed up in the slot. Also seemed like it was leaving a yellow tint on the veneer. I covered it with a strip of white electrical tape, and while that helped it also caused problems of its own.
Veneer trimmer
Would Not RecommendFor an extremely small job this may work, I had to use a block plane in conjunction with the trimmer. Used by itself, nope. After a few passes the yellow finish came of on the project. I just had a small job to do, so I put up with it.
Edge Trimmer

Works, but not great
While using this edger, it worked well on melamine edging, but not as well on the birch. Seemed to either grab too much or none at all. Glue squeeze out from iron on edging did cause some problems. I found that if you get one side of the edging real close and let the other side have more of the excess it seemed to work better. I bought it and will continue to use, but keep a SHARP utility knife close for ends and also plan on sanding laminate edging as well.
