Customers are advised to exercise caution when purchasing milkweed and consider seeking out plants from local sources that can guarantee they are safe for monarchs.

Would Not RecommendI had 118 caterpillars and ran out of milkweed so I purchased 8 of these plants at the Deltona, Florida location. In less than 24 hours, my number of caterpillars was less than 50 due to the milkweed being tainted. I immediately removed the milkweed and have been trying to save the ones left, but I am afraid it's too late. This is unacceptable. Milkweed plants are used exclusively as monarch butterfly host plants, they should not be treated!!!!! Lowes needs to remove all milkweed plants from al...
Please don't buy the pant for Monarch butterflies
Would Not RecommendPlease Not buy this plant in Lowe's to feed your Monarch butterflies. My caterpillars are dying as I try to keep butterflies from extinction .it is soo sad to see all dead.
Don’t use Lowes milkweed for Monarch caterpillars!
I bought this milkweed to feed Monarch caterpillars. The plants looked great and I was assured pesticides were not used on these plants as Lowe’s understands they are used as food for the delicate Monarch caterpillars. Something was wrong with the milkweed as I then lost at least 2 dozen caterpillars that either died within a couple of days or they tried to pupate and the chrysalis became deformed. VERY UNHAPPY!!

Fantastic plant. lots of Monarchs
Would RecommendI have purchased this plant at least 25 times. They are all over my yard. The beginning of December I counted 49 Monarch Caterpillars eating my milkweed. Many have COCOONED and hatched. Need to get more because they ate all the leaves on all my plants. Had to buy Butternut squash to slice and feed the remaining caterpillars. They seem to love it.
Year After Year Still Poisonous!
Would Not RecommendI can't believe the ratings on here from years after and the plants still selling with poisonous effects killing endangered species, the monarch. Milkweed is their only food source and people don't care. The $$ is what's important to them. Sad : (
Black Death Plants
Would Not RecommendMy 7yr. old grandson n I started new hobby, raising, saving monarchs. Going great until bought Lowe's milkweeds and ours caterpillars died. Learned by my mistakes, buying poisonous milkweed. It should be against the law to use chemicals on endangered species only food! Shame on you!

Would Not RecommendMilkweed is most often purchased for monarch butterflies (and their caterpillars) to eat. This plant was contaminated with some insecticide that killed them.
