I buy this milkweed because I raise the Florida monarch butterflies. This is the plant that they lay their eggs on and also the caterpillars eat the leaves. However, the recent batch I bought evidently was sprayed with a pesticide or weed killer. As a consequence, the caterpillars who made it into chrysalis stage, came out deformed or died in the chrysalis. This is unacceptable. Lowes needs to make sure the plants that are exclusive for the Florida Monarch be pesticide free, and not sprayed with...

Would Not RecommendI bought 3 of these last winter (In Florida) to feed about 30 Monarch caterpillars who had stripped my garden milkweed. All but one of the caterpillars died within 24 hours after moving them to these plants. Lowe's should not sell this plant, as they are loaded with pesticides, and will kill Monarchs. Lowe's should only sell pesticide free milkweed, or not at all. It is very sad to think of the numbers of Monarchs they are killing.

BEWARE MILKWEED FROM LOWES
Would Not RecommendI recently purchased 3 milkweeds from Archer Road Lowes, of the 12 cats I put into my enclosure, 9 have already died. when I purchased them, I noticed there were no cats or eggs on any of the plants that I checked. I have successfully raised and released almost 70 Monarch Butterflies this season. Buyer Beware !!!!
