I liked this product but trouble replacing rusted hinges

My opening mechanism & hinges have rusted and I am having a hard time finding replacement parts. Since the plastic drums still seem like good parts- I wish I could just upgrade the metal components. Please contact me if that possible, thank you!

Great Product and Customer Care

I purchased this back in 2013. I have had this in full sun and eventually moved it to a partially shaded area, the plastic holds up really well. Since it was uncovered and exposed to the elements, the metal parts began rusting. I notified customer service and John sent out the parts asap and all free of charge! This company really backs up their products! I am truly satisfied!

Great Dual Tumbler Composter

So far, this is a great composter. It took a bit to put together, but it seems very well made. I really like the idea of having two bins, with one always cooking. They are a good height, and the wide opening makes it easy to load leaves and clippings with a shovel. They are very easy to turn, with a good latching system. They also have a very large capacity, which I really like. I already have one bin full and cooking and am working on the other bin. Really seems to be a great product.

Loved it until the hinge broke

The inner closing mechanism rusted. Yesterday when I opened the one side the hinge snapped and the lid broke off. Now I only have one drum that works. Is there anyway the hinge can be replaced?

Customer service

We bought the composter 3 years ago. We recently found an issue with one of the legs. Lifetime got back to us the same day, and the issue was resolved immediately. This is customer service at its best!

Works OK, but hardware rusted out

Over the past few years I noticed that the locking handles were getting difficult to turn. Granted, my composter is out of the 5 year warranty period, but all of the hardware inside the composter barrels has rusted away to the point where it's falling apart. That latch mechanism has failed on one and is about ready to go on the other. All of the nuts, bolts, brackets and axel show heavy rusting. Extremely useful!

I am very pleased with this item. I’d watched a neighbor produce an abundance of beautifully rich compost during the past several years so I had to try. The bins arrived with a couple of broken pieces which I quickly took pictures and emailed them to the company. I received a very quick response inquiring where to send the parts. Rusting parts

I have had my composter for 4 years and it has worked great but I have to oil the hinges and latches frequently. Now the pipe that the bins rotate around has rusted in half and the bins are bound on each other. I don't know if I will buy another one but it has been great while it lasted.

Nice composter but not for real life use

Had the tumblers for a couple years and work great for composting but the closure mechanism is not made for real life. Mine seized on the left one after a little over a year and the right one a year or so after that. Completely rusted through and unusable. 3 stars for the function, 0 stars for the construction.

Poor design

The aerator bar was missing two holes, which I had to drill myself to complete assembly. After encountering this issue I read others also had this problem. The biggest problem is that the bars of the metal latching mechanism do not fit in the holes inside the drum. I have to forcefully push the lid down to get the lid to lock. I previously purchased the composter that uses clips (60058) to close and it worked great.

Not only does it perform extremely well, the customer service is amazing. After years of heavy usage, one of the lid hinges broke. When I contacted them, they offered to send me a set of hinges out at no charge. No begging, no threatening, I would have even paid for them. their customer service matches their product. OUTSTANDING!!!

Request for repair parts

The hinge failed on our Composter. We contacted the company and they were very expeditious in satisfying the warranty at no cost to us. This was handled with complete professionally and courtesy for which we are thankful.

Lifetime, so ironic!

We bought this double bin composter but are hugely disappointed. As many others have mentioned, the interior parts have rusted and have rendered this composter useless. The concept behind this composter is very good, rotating for example, but the execution is poor. I would not expect these parts to break after a few years.

Loved this before...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lot of things to love about this composter until the problems start. Needs a warning about metal parts that rust and then the composter lids will NO longer open. I was taking good care of my composter but unless I had a roof over the space where I stored it, this was going to happen in time!! Things to love - great size and height that made it easy to access and use, 2 bins were great - you could keep adding while the other bin was "cooking"...

Best home composters ever.

Great customer Service!

This composter was bought as a gift for me. Within a year there was rust on the parts. 2ish years in and the lid rusted off. I called & spoke to the friendliest rep, Jonathan, who issued me an entire new hardware set in less than 20 minutes. Amazing. I like the composter and am happy they are sending replacement parts.
