great composter except for desigh flaw

Worked great until it rusted out!

Have had it a couple of years and now we can't even get one side open without fear of breaking the latch because of all the rust. We were so excited to get a composted and now we're afraid to use it.

Good product, best customer service.

I have owned this product for over 4 years. Several internal parts rusted and I inquired about buying replacement parts. I was floored to learn that my product was still under warranty and I would receive all new "guts" so I can get my composter operating again. Very happy with the service.

Great Composter

Turns out great compost throughout the year. Easy to use.

Would not buy again but good for 2 years.

They held up pretty good the first year we had them and now the inside is rusted out and the pins on the sides have broken. We also had a couple of the plastic corner pieces break out. We've had them 3 years but now they are ready for the dump as oil is no longer working on the metal parts.

I've had these composters for several years, and when some parts rusted I could not find the receipt, but contacted Lifetime to see about how to get replacements. They still had my information on hand from a previous contact and immediately ordered replacements for me under warranty. I love the composters themselves, too. It's great to have two bins, so that one can be finished while adding more raw materials to the second.

Excellent customer service

I bought this composter more than a year ago. It does an excellent job of composting the materials. One of the hinges rusted through and broke. I contacted customer service and they ordered new hinges at no charge. This is a company that stands behind its products!

great design but need galvanized metal fir inside tumbler

I bought this 2-3 years ago from BJs and has definitely made composting easier and neater. Over time the corners have fallen out and the hardware inside the tumbler has rusted together. I was able to lubricate the hardware in one barrel with WD40 but the other is rusted solid and handle will not turn so lid can't latch closed. Customer service ordered new hardware which is backordered so it seems many are having same problem. Hopefully next time they will consider using galvanized metal for par...

Excellent customer service

My wife has had a double and a single composter for about four years and has been extremely satisfied with both of them. She has recommended them to friends who show interest in gardening. Recently, the hinge one of the double bins broke. All I was inquiring about was purchasing a replacement hinge. Lifetime sent me a replacement without charge. This rates as superior service in my book. Thank you Lifetime.

Great product but the closing mechanism on the lid has completely rusted out. Talked to a rep and new parts are being sent to me when they come available.

can't use 1 of the 2 composters

I have only had the Lifetime dual composter 50 Gallon for about 2 years now and it has done a pretty good job of making compost for the garden. However the latching mechanism on the left side which is the most used side has rusted so bad that we do not use it because we cannot open it. Also one of the corner pieces popped out at some point and was not noticed immediately to be replaced so there is about a 2" hole on the corner where the compost falls out when we tumble the compost.
