Sharp as Sharp.

I needed a set of chisels, and I chose this set. It is one of my better choices. They did the job that I needed doing, and did it very fast and neat.

AWesome Chisel Set

Needed one chisel to accomplish a job and found three for the price of one 1/2. Great deal, sturdy, even beat out the price on Amazon.

Great for what I needed - could be a bit sharper

If you don't feel like watching the whole video, here are the highlights: 1. I'm a novice at chiseling so this is from a beginners perspective 2. I'd definitely recommend these chisels -- they worked great for me. The only possible things I could think to gripe on (although very minimally so): a.) They could be a touch sharper. They worked great in most cases, but knots gave them fits -- my guess though is that this is common for most chisels...that wood was dense! b.) The handles were awesome...

Hope you're good at sharpening them

Came out of the box dull as anything. With no experience or skill at sharpening chisels (such as myself), these will prove to be absolutely useless. If you know how to sharpen, they may be worth it, but the steel is still quite soft. Good luck.

very happy with them

I had a project where i was using one these chisels with some other stanley chisels (they were a bit more expensive). After sharpening the kobalt i was very surprised at how good an edge the kobalt chisel took. Like any manual edge tool, they're a lot better if you sharpen them (honing and stropping) before using. I would recommend them to anyone, especially for the price. I'm not a super big fan of kobalt tools, but these are definitely worth considering.

Better than expected

I bought this set and the other 6 individual sizes a couple of years ago to use as a utility set, just something to beat on from time to time, I don't want to review each chisel and write the same thing 7 times so here it is for all 9 sizes Kobalt offers. I personally like the long handles with the comfort grip, these are not a thru tang set but does have a steel cap on the end of the handle to bash with a hammer. Nice chisels

The first thing you notice when you pick up these chisels is how big the handles are. They are certainly made to be held onto firmly and to be whacked with a hammer. So many of the chisels in the price range of the Kobalt just have plastic handles that don't stand up well to the beating a chisel is designed for. Well made chisels

There were two choices at my local Lowes when I went hunting for wood chisels. Somehow I had lost the old set I had, which were really beat up anyway. I was going to get the cheaper ones, but when I held the handle it just didn't feel as good. These Kobalt chisels have a nice fat handle that fits my hand better. Fat handles give you better control I think. The edge was really sharp on these too. Whether they will hold an edge remains to be seen, but so far it looks like the steel is pretty good....

Need purchase

Timely purchase. Replaced my previous set (over 20 years old). I should not have waited so long to replace. Very good quality, heavy duty, very sharp. Used only once with very good results.

Nice Chisel Set

These are a good middle of the road set. The 3 sizes are universal in what they can be used for. They worked well for mortising out a deadbolt lock. They work best when using a rubber or wooden mallet rather than a hammer, though a hammer would work, as they seem to provide better cutting control. i can tell they will need to be sharpened regularly. They were pretty sharp out of the box. All in all a great starter set.

Inexpensive, have on hand set.

I was just looking for a very inexpensive set to have on hand when the unforeseen need arises. These are certainly more than sufficient for that purpose. If I was doing some fine cabinetry or something more high end I might opt for something more expensive but for general needs like putting in a door latch or recessed hinge I think these are fine.

it is so nice to have a set of quality chisels. I used them to install a new door...made me feel like I knew what I was doing.

Work fine ... but needs final package QC

First off, these chiles worked fine. I used them to chiles out a hinge recess for a new door slab I installed in my home. However, after getting home I realized that my 3 piece chisel set which was supposed to contain three "different" sizes, actually had been packaged with one 1/2 inch and "two" 3/4 inch chisels. I know Lowes will happily take them back and exchange or refund my money. It's the hassles of having to drive back and do it. Like I said, the chiseled worked fine and were very sharp

Great tool

Easy to handle, cuts very well through most woods I have used so far.

Great product

I purchased these in order to chip away at a door for new hinges. These chisels worked like a charm and felt incredibly solid as I tapped away at them with a hammer. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for quality.
