Great mitered saw

Love this mitered saw I got it going general round the house wood projests such as fence, table, benches, drawers and other carpentry things and it is working great it was definitely a great buy.

Excellent saw, with only 1 flaw

This saw cuts like a dream and is tough as a sledgehammer. However the sawdust collection isn't so great. When cutting even at a slow speed, this thing spews sawdust in every direction. It's not a huge deal, just need to sweep the work space a little more often. Also a very minor issue, the motor placement will prevent you from cutting more than ~3.5 inches deep. It's not a big deal at all, it's only a 10-inch blade so it can't cut much more even if the motor was moved back.

Nice saw for the price

This is a very nice saw for the price - set up is easy and intuitive (a good thing since the instructions are not always entirely clear). It's easy to use and slices through 4x4s like they are butter. Almost all metal construction, which I like a lot (the blade shield and some handles are plastic). Sawdust collection is not great so if you're using indoors, make sure you are ready with your vacuum. Easy to use and does a great job for me. Very comparable to much higher priced saws.

Great Saw on a Budget

I have always heard good things about Hitachi products, and I was not disappointed with this saw. It came nearly perfectly square, adjusted the left fence slightly. Putting it together was a breeze. I built a 8' x 15" rolling stand out of 3/4" birch plywood, and mounted it on. Squared up the fence, and now it rocks. Great saw!

I had been looking for a while at different miter saws and couldn't decide which I wanted to buy. Sure the $500 saws are nice, but I really didn't need anything that size. I just needed a saw to make cuts for small projects and around the house duty. This saw was the perfect buy. It seems to be very well made and was was nearly ready to go straight out of the box. It is extremely easy to use and woks very well. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a 10" miter saw.

Excellent Product

I bought this saw the night before a large fence project because my old saw died. The only two things I had a problem with involved the initial setup. I spent over ten minutes looking for the 10mm wrench. No where did it say it was stored on the arm of the saw. We finally found it by accident. Secondly the clamp for the compound ajustment is LEFT hand thread. Again no where in the instructions did it say this. Falls Backwards

I've had this model for years. Loved it. I'll give the old model five stars. But the base on the new model is so narrow, about two inches or more. Why? When I removed my old one off my stand and set the new model on it, unlocked saw and let it up it almost rolled off backwards off my stand. I could not believe it. It went straight back for a return!

Mitersaw Workhorse

Was on the fence as to purchasing an Hitachi compound mitersaw, but I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised, This saw is really nice, plenty of power and the blade is cutting true at 90 degrees, right out of the box. I would surely recommend this saw at such a great price, it's ideal for the average homeowner.

Not for the pro nor serious hobbyist

I have worked in finish carpentry for the past 30 years, and I have worked with many brands of miter saw. This Hitachi saw is a great choice for the homeowner who isn't needing accuracy. However, I would not recommend this saw for anyone in the professional trades or any hobbyist who is serious about achieving at the highest levels. Nice, affordable saw= Happy customer

This was my first miter saw i have ever purchased. Im pretty satisfied with this one. Its cost is pretty affordable. If you are going to use this for basic home repair/improvements, you really cant go wrong with this. It comes with a blade (not sure if all of them do). Upgraded from a Craftsman

This cuts through wood like butter! I installed crown moldings for my kitchen cabinets and the cuts were accurate. The 10" is an upgrade from my 7 1/4" craftsman miter saw. The price is also very sweet! Good buy and I am very satisfied. Nothing better than having the right tools to do a job!

Great Miter Saw

Just bought one of these saws last week and already liking it. It's not the slide or laser saw but it works great for what it is. Well worth the price. No problems so fare and cut's straight out of the box.

Very good saw

I purchased this saw for the many small projects that I do around the house. Seems like a very handy and accurate saw. The instructions to put together were easy to follow and took just a few minutes. Very accurate cuts, just using the blade included. Have not tried any other blades with it yet.
