Outstanding Product

This is a very good and attractive mailbox post when mated with the matching mailbox. Only thing to make it better would be if Lowe’s carried the 4x4 post spike ( which makes it a very easy install) I had to go to the Orange Store to pick up the spike. You just pound it into the ground and artatch your 4x4 to it. No digging no. No concrete. And it is a very solid install.

Quality product with simple installation

Purchased 4/2018. Appears to be a quality product with durability that should last. Installation was very straight forward. It is recommended to use a 48" 4x4 post -- 24" under ground and 24" above ground. It's worth noting that although the entire sleeve is approximately 51" tall, there are two bolts that cross through the center of the sleeve at approximately 33" from the base which are used to attach the mailbox bracket. Good Looking Mailbox Post

I bought this to replace my old mailbox post that was knocked down by a car. My wife and I looked at what Lowes had to offer and liked this one the best. The post was shown in black on the box, but once I opened it, I realized it was brown ("Venetian Bronze") and the box label reflected this. Post that is buried is well constructed. The arm that the mailbox sits on doesn’t seem to be as sturdy. Probably would work fine for a while but. Seems a little flimsy for a $ 90.00 Mounting Post.

Nice looking, with good adjustability

We needed this to replace our wooden all-in-one post that was buried too shallow for our frosty area. The new post looks more classy and, with a 4x4 post inside, it is also much more solid than our old post. Unlike the other reviewer, we didn't have any trouble putting this together, though looking closely at the pictures on the box and instructions helped a lot. Finial was not in box. Having it sent by manufacturer. Most difficult to put together. 2 people needed. It was very frustrating.

Hard to Install

First off the mailbox mount was very hsrd to align with our existing box from same manufacturer. Then the screws to attach facia to post didn't match color of cover and were wrong quality for job.

Post review

Post is fine but the support bracket fell apart after less than a year. It is so cheaply made it can't support the weight of the mail box. The post mounting bolts pulled through the holes, the seams came apart, and it just fell off the post!! If the support bracket was better, this would be an excellent product!! I can fix it, but I shouldn't have to!!

Very classy

This mailbox post has a very classy look to it and I really like the appearance. On the downside the screws used to secure the post to the 4x4 post are cheap and will without question rust. Also, I would rather have had the 4x4 pressure treated post go all the way up through the decorative post, but the bolts that secure the arm which holds the mailbox go all the way through the post and limit the height of the 4x4 post. This is NOT Steel!

I purchased this to repair/replace a broken mailbox post (as opposed to complete new installation). I specifically selected it because it is described as steel. I was VERY unhappy to find it is actually aluminium. I could (and did) still use it - because I was pressed for time. But needless to say, Very unhappy with this misrepresentation. If you want an aluminium product, this one is fine.

Easy!

Easy assembly. Well designed and (I'm hoping) well made. Still sitting in the garage but it looks like it should last a long time.

Just what I was looking for

I had a broken wooden mail box post. Only the top was broken but the bottom 3 feet or so was just fine. This metal mail box post fits right over an existing wooden 4x4 post. So all I had to do was cut the original post so it was a little shorter and then this new post fit right over it. No need to dig a new hole. It attaches to the original post with screws.
