runs for 30 seconds then dies

Gas leaking from air filter box

Bought this generator this past week in preparation for the ice storms in TN. Put it together, put gas in it once we lost power, and as soon as i turn the gas valve on the gas starts leaking on the ground coming out of the air filter box. Can't return it to Lowe's - There policy is once it has gas it can't be returned. So needless to say I bought a generator that I will have to find someone to repair before ever getting a chance to actually use it.

Unit was not ready to operate at time or purchase

I purchased this generator in JAN 2026. It would not start despite following all of the instructions. I called the Help Desk and asked for help. He provided no other advice other than what was in the manual. I registered the unit for Warrantee Support. In talking with the tech, I was told that it was manufactured in November 2024, per the serial number. So I got a unit that was sitting in a box for over a year. Fire QC

Had gas spewing everywhere until I realized the carb had an extra gasket between carb and block that was blocking fuel ports! QC has to be better, if they don’t make it work out of the box without problems why the higher price tag?!?

Bought it for a emergency

Here in SC a hurricane or wintry event can leave us without power. I feel prepared having a Generac generator

Did not start.

Poured gas out of carb. Lowe’s said they won’t take it back once opened. Generac has no on site service, you have to haul it somewhere. Lowe’s do better.

Loud

A little bit of a difficult time starting up, but it works as it should and does exactly what it is intended for. A lot louder than i thought.

Enough power for my well pump, and the rest.

Enough power (barely) to run my well pump. Saved my bacon during our recent 5 day power outage. Don’t how the long term durability will shake out, but for occasional backup capacity this has been a lifesaver

Lost my power 4 days after purchasing generator. Took an hour to set it up, and it started right up. Ran it for 11 hours straight with no issues. Powered everything I needed.
