Hands Down Best Nugget Ice Maker!

This is my third nugget ice maker. My first was a Frigidaire and I thought it was great until I purchased an Opal 2.0. The Opal nugget ice has a much better texture. After a ridiculous amount of produced ice, the pump/motor finally quit. There was no question about shopping around. We immediately purchased another Opal nugget ice maker! Fortunately, Samsclub had a great price on the Opal 2.0. I am forever spoiled. Once you’ve tried the Opal ice, you can’t go without it!!!

Doesn't last..

Bought the old one many years ago and it had lasted years, bought this one in March and it's already not working.

Initial cleaning set up process took a little while and I chose to use distilled water to do that but so far it is working great.

Believe the bad reviews

I love the ice but it’s already having problems after less than 2 weeks. I don’t hold out much hope it will last too long and for the cost that’s not acceptable

Does not turn itself back on to produce more ice

This is the 2nd replacement unit on the icemaker. I do not know what the issue is that GE can not get these units to work correctly. This particular unit will not make nugget ice, it is more of a slush type ice and the unit will not start producing more ice until the ice bin is almost fully melted. The bright side is that at least this unit does not sound like a horror movie happening in my kitchen.

Stopped working after a month

Worked really good for almost 2 months then stopped making ice. Very disappointing considering the cost.

Best Nugget Ice Maker on the market!!!!

We have been looking for the perfect ice maker, and we found an opal nugget ice maker. It's small, fits right into our countertop, and is very convenient. The way it makes ice in just under 30 minutes is incredible. We are delighted and can't ask for anything better than this ice maker. We can track it on our phone because of its Wi-Fi capability. Easy to descale and keep functioning.

Makes delicious ice that is perfect size and texture. I love to have just a cup of ice like in the hospital with this machine. Great quality too, have not had any issues with machine

Great Convenient and yummy Ice

I love this ice maker. Not sure for those that rated why in the world they are cleaning it out every few days or weeks. It has a UV light and you don't need to clean it out until the cleaning prompt comes on and even then you can go a bit longer if you want. Just use Vinegar to clean/descale and then a bit of Bleach to run through to sanitize. Mine made a loud screech noise and I just took the cover off and few other parts and loosened the Styrofoam packing a bit around the auger system an...

Did not last 3 mos! GE will not help!

We received one as a gift it lasted 3 mos I did cleanings timely no one at GE will help. Do not have receipt only 2 elderly people use this!

Features are great and we like the ice.

My ice maker started out great. We loved it and so did our family and friends . I say “loved” because after just 2 months it no longer works. It just displays “Add Water” . We have followed the only suggestion I found on line suggesting ther might be air in the lines. I have drained the machine at least five times now and also “unplugged it for three to four hours” as suggested to allow the machine to “reset”. None of these attempts worked. I am really disappointed since I was looking forward to...
