This is the third Dimplex electric firebox I have purchased and the second of the same model for different houses. Best value overall of all I have looked at. No problems, they just work. So realistic that a friend suggested that I open the glass doors before the flame damages the glass. I reminded him that it was actually an electric fireplace.

Very happy with our purchase
Our older home (1936) has a brick fireplace that is the central focus of the house. We had wood fires in it for the first several years we lived here, but in recent years have not. We wanted to be able to have the ambiance of a fire any time we wanted, and to be able to turn it off and not worry about it when we went upstairs to our TV room/bedroom. Also did not want to clean put the ashes any more. This does it very well. It fills a niche for people like us who just want the comforting ambiance...

The logs are located in a basement family room in a brick fireplace opening and gives the room wonderful ambiance on those special occasions when entertaining. I also got the ""Crackle"" remote which has a very realistic sound.

If you want a fireplace without the hassle of cleaning out the ashes, this is the fireplace for you. It looks like a real fire and even provides heat if you want it. This is my second one. I broke the first one because I did not read the directions on replacing the light. Really a simple process.
