User friendly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a professional carpenter and I don’t use this tool every single day so I couldn’t justify the little extra const of cordless but when i do need this it’s invaluable. I used it today to level out some cabinets prepping for a countertop that needs to be perfecly flat. I use it to bevel custom threshold. It’s the tool that always gets me out of a bind. Easily adjustable, user friendly. Couldn’t ask for more.

A beast!

Desalt planer

I am happy with the dewalt planer. It was easy to use and helpful for the project I was working on.

Lightweight but powerful

I looked at about five different planers before I chose this one. It was the best unit for the price. It is indeed powerful it makes very short work of even the toughest jobs. And again it is very lightweight. I am happy with this unit.

excellent addition to tools

Works great. Nice alternative to belt sander. Could benefit from a dust collector.

A nice working machine

This is my first hand planer and I am enjoying the tool thus far. I am certainly in need of practice and will need to improve my skills to find its quality results but it is working well.

No dust collection!

I received the DeWalt WD680k Heavy Duty planer kit as a Christmas present. I haven't used it yet but I have researched it extensively and the sad fact is DeWalt failed by making dust collection nearly impossible. I am considering taking this to a retailer that sales this model and exchanging it for a model or brand that offers but collection.

Used it on an old barn beam. Worked like I hoped it would. Good tool

Dewalt Planer

Awesome tool. Easy to use, had three doors that needed planing due to carpet installation and improper mill work at a store that shall remain nameless. Made quick work of all three doors in less than 30 minutes

Great Tool....missing one thing.

Bought tool to shave down replacement doors. Worked great right out of the box. Like cutting butter...the only thing wood chips all over the place. Dust bag would have been. Other than that it's great.

Excellent Tool

This tool has been on my list to buy for a long time, finally bought to plane down floor joists on a deck so all the boards were even.... worked great. Will also make trimming doors easier vs using my circular saw...

Depth

I am a Dewalt guy, but this planer is just out of adjustment, it supposed to cut up to 1/16, saying that when you set it at 0 it should not cut on a flat surface, so it just destroyed my table top made from Oak, which is not cheap wood, so very disappointed with this planer, giving 3 start just because it does smooth cut.

disappointing

i am a dewalt fan but this planer has issues. I comes with no way to control wool chips- dust and no information available to add. No carry case as it should have and upon first use it didn't cut level - Not so good for the price i paid. After reading several reviews with same problems i returned it for a refund--

Great purchase!

I just got new carpet in my house and I had about 10 doors that needed cut down. The tool performed great. I love that you can take small cuts. The depth gauge allows you to take 1/64 to 1/16 inch cuts. I had to take 1/2 inch off each door. I took 1/16 inch cuts cut very smooth. The guard was great allowing me to make straight cuts. The only thing I did not like was that the metal guard left a mark on my white door. I put masking tape on the door where the guide went across the door. I would do ...
