Would RecommendWe live in a manufactured home setting whose steps and decks were part of the original purchase. After 10 years of weather, one of our post caps rotted and split away. It had been nailed in, and that didn't help with its ability to last. I wasn't sure what to do, so I went to Lowe's and was lucky to find these available. What's more, they come with an adhesive strip inside so that mounting is very easy, and a better bet to last. I painted it to match and -- voila! We were all good again.

poor choice
Would Not RecommendThe caps have began to seperate in the heat. The top seperates from the bottom. They are appealing to the eye yet a poor quality bc they are a 2 piece product that seperates as it heats up.

Don't waste your money
Would Not Recommendthese look good when you first get them but after less than a week of putting them on my deck more than half of them warped badly. I exchanged them for new ones but those warped too. Don't waste your money. I'm shopping for new ones now.
Poor Quality Product Warps Quickly
Would Not RecommendI purchased 12 caps for my new deck which was built 3 weeks ago. 8 of the 12 caps have warped to the point of being totally worthless. Very poor quality. I hope Lowes will allow me to return these or at least give me a credit toward a future purchase. What a mess they created. Now I have to take them down and do that instead of getting my deck stained.
Could be better
Would RecommendRecommend with reservation. "treated" post cap I'm not sure. I installed them for a new deck and railing and everyone said they were just the right finishing touch for a beautiful new deck. I was waiting for the wood to cure before finishing everything, and almost half of these caps needed replacing very quickly. The wood split and warped so the pieces separated so I really wonder if they're treated and what type of wood they're made of. They were easy to install and fit well over treated 4X4s. ...
