Great for my Padio

I built a classic padio and these headers were perfect To put on a 4x4” wood beam which I topped the with a solar light! Looks classic and refined and in the end came under cost!

Nice natural post cap

This post cap works well with 4x4 post. The inside measurement was a little small for my 4x4 pressure treated post so I had to sand the post with a belt sander prior to installing the post cap.

Lacking Adhesion ... Needs Paint FAST

Pretty and moderately priced, this wood post cap will not adhere to the post. And I had to replace two of them because I was delayed in painting them and they warped. Hope the paint keeps 'em from warping any further!

deck cap

worked well for me but base is pretty thin and splits easy i would recommend you drill a hole first if you are putting a screw through it even a desk screw splits it.

split, cracked and warped

don't waste your money. Look good when new, then split, crack, warp, then fall apart. there should be a place for 0 stars.

Horrible

They are beautiful when first put on our deck. But just a couple months later they are falling apart. We spent a lot of money for these and now need replaced. It’s only been a little over a month! Guess we will do without at this point because our income does not allow us to replace something that should not have to be replaced so quickly. They should state these should not be used outdoors.... AT ALL!!! Heartbroken in Tennessee. :(

poor quality

My contractor installed these on my new deck posts and after two weeks, they have all fallen apart. We will be taking these back! Would not recommend!

Warped, cracked and separated

I bought 13 of these when I reconfigured my deck in May of 2017. All of them have either warped, cracked or separated from the base in some way by July 2017, they were all sealed with Thompson's. I will be replacing them and would never buy them again.

Warped in 1 year

Purchased 12 of these for a deck. Stained and sealed inside and outside the cap and they warped into pretzels within a year. Go with vinyl caps or make your own out hardwood and a router.

Terrible product

Bought wood deck caps for my 4x4 posts on deck. Bought 3 on 7/4/17 at 7:30 pm from Lowes. By 7/9/17 two caps warped, cracked and came apart. Brought back to store with receipt. Pat at customer service desk makes the comment it happens because they were out in sun. Not after 5 days and they were not out in sun for 24 hours a day!

Deck Post Caps

Would not have bought this product if I'd have had a better option. Pine rots easily and product is poorly constructed with "staples." Yes, I treat them every year. Like the design, but would prefer a pressure treated wood or plastic option for better longevity.
