I had a Coleman lantern at one time, we went camping and it fell in the water, it stayed lit and floated as far as the eye can see. They give plenty of light and float lol. Sorry I don't have a picture of it.

We love our Coleman kerosene lanterns. We use them when we go camping. We use them when we lose power. They are bright and throw a little heat so that’s helpful in the cold snowy winters suringmm no outages. These are my husbands favorite!

I’ll be buying a second

First lantern I’ve ever bought and it’s perfect. I’d buy two of these before I went to a higher lumen. I struggled to get the alcohol to ignite. Maybe it works better if I use denatured? But once lit it lasted all night.

639A Kerosene Lantern

Well, after a rocky road trying to get the Coleman 639 Kerosene lantern all is good!! The lantern arrived in time for the first camping trip of the year and it performed GREAT! Just like the Old Days with the generator warmer. Single mantle brute enough to light the night!

Very Impressed

I have about a dozen Coleman lanterns but this is my first kerosene model. I am impressed. I followed the lighting instructions and had no issues at all getting it up and running. It is very bright. Easily the brightest lantern I own. Looking forward to the next light up.

Another quality lantern from a company with a rich history in lanterns. I've used many Coleman lanterns through the years with some dating back to the 1950's and this one is built with the same quality. It is extremely bright, especially when you compare it to the single-mantle propane lantern. The cool factor from using kerosene and the alcohol ignition system puts it over the top. Great kerosene lamp

This lantern is a fun throwback to a simpler time when everything was more complex. There’s a real starting procedure, you don’t just light it. It burns brightly with a very nice color light and I ran it in excess of 8 hours*. I shut it off, it still had fuel. *Not full bright but approximately 80%. Pro-tip: have some Q-tips handy. They bend nicely and when dipped in alcohol they aid in lighting. In summation this is a great lantern that works well and will likely last a lifetime.

Love my 639C Lantern

I have been waiting for a while now to get my hands on a new Kerosene model. When I heard these were back in stock, I had to grab one. This lantern was a prefect fit for me because I use a Kerosene heater, so I already had the fuel needed. Only had to get a small can of Denatured Alcohol which should last me years.
