Ratings & Reviews for Coleman Kerosene Lantern 700-Lumen Camping Lantern

Incredible lantern!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic Product. Massive amount of light. Differs from my older Kero Colemans in that you have some control on light output.

Very nice fueled lantern!

This is a nice example of what lanterns should be. Liquid fueled and bright! This isn't exactly like it's predecessor, the Model 237 but, it's nice in it's own right and about the best Coleman makes today. Hopefully they will catch the drift of all the people going back to liquid fueled lanterns and begin producing more models again........I mean that IS what made Coleman what it is today afterall!

Not worth the price

I was given as a gift a 639C brand new in box, it was manufactured 5/2019. Upon opening the box yesterday I noticed the pump plunger was difficult to operate. I pulled the pump from the tube and saw rust inside the pump tube, well I wasn't happy. Upon shutdown, I noticed after 5 minutes the lantern would not go out. I was finally able to get the lantern to shut down if I held the valve in the off position. I figured I would light it one more time, so during the preheat cycle i noticed kerosene d...

Wonderful Lantern

This lantern is fool proof. A great lantern that has given many years of service.

Good lamp for a base camp

This got me curious to see how well it stacked up to the propane and the white gas variations and, two thumbs up! Just as bright, excusing the difference of the single mantal and no bad kerosene smell

Excellent product

Excellent lantern. Very well made. The added step of denatured alcohol is really easy once you get the hand of it. Only drawback of this style of lantern is the difficulty adjusting to get a very low dimness. The lantern is naturally very bright, so if you are looking for something that is dimmer this may not be for you

great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bright durable long lasting at a affordable price and top of the line quality.

Cost effective, great lantern.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a dozen or so Coleman fuel lanterns and decided to pick up this kerosene model. You can store the fuel longer in the event of an emergency. Its well built and very bright.

awesome lantern

this lantern is brighter than my 286 (single mantle gas) after preheat, mantle lit instantly without flames or smoke also could adjust dimmer than my gas lantern very best part, "made in the USA!"

Old School Cool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Classic Kero lantern from Coleman. As close as you can get now to the old Coleman lanterns. Every thing about this lantern is great-from the pre heat procedure, to the awesome light it puts out. Kero is about half the cost of Coleman fuel (around here anyway). I`d recommend running this lantern full blast, not turned down to a lower setting.

Great runner!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great lantern. Easy to use and nice and bright.

Kero lantern awesomeness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always wanted a NEW coleman, this was the best choice for me and it is bright as the sun, grab your sunglasses.

Great light for the great outdoors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coleman GPA lanterns (and stoves) are simply the best outdoors and emergency lighting ever built, the modern stuff isn’t quite the same as pre-1980s but still beats anything else. Even the modern battery operated LED lights don’t compare. I grew up using these and hope to pass them on to my kids. I’ve even become a collector, but will always be a user first.

Bright, dependable and efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to supplement emergency lighting in case of blackouts and recently had to use this lantern during a black out where the temperature fell below freezing. Unit started right up as it should and added a bit of warmth during this time. Unit lasted all through the night with only one tank of fuel.

Very easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super bright lantern that uses kerosene.
