Would RecommendThe Char Griller Gravity 980’s design and function is unique in the BBQ/smoker world. It is a well thought out smoker/BBQ system, but it’s execution has a fatal flaw that can and has ruined more than a few of my cooks. The plunger sensors that are used to prevent users from getting burned if they open the charcoal bin or ash door by turning the fan off if either door is opened during a cook fail ALL THE TIME, usually right when you’re in the middle of a cook. Awesome grill.
Would RecommendI loved how easy it was to use. It maintains temperature almost perfectly. I smoked a 12 lb brisket for 12 hours and it turned out perfect. I didn't like that I could only use bluetooth. The wireless will not work with a 5 ghz router.

Would RecommendI have had my 980 since the week before Father's day 2021. At first I loved it then I hated it and now I'm back in love with it. So why the change of heart? I replaced the fan flap. That one repair put this item back in the win column for me. See, I got a bit overzealous with the wood chuncks in the ash pan and inadvertently melted my fan flap. it was working great. It literally was a set it and forget it grill. But, in my desire to up the smoke flavor, which it didn't need, I overloaded the ash...

Would Not RecommendPutting this thing together is a pain. Outside of that it was complete junk! Temps would not hold and continuously got the error glucose for the fan. Took it back and awaiting a pitboss. Don’t waste your money.
Avoid pro assembly from Lowes
Would Not RecommendOrdered on line, chose the pro assembly. Website said it was ready to pick up, it was not. Assembly folks only there one day a week. Waited another week to pick up. Got home to use it, all error codes. Had to search YouTube for fix. Found wires were not connected, fixed myself , did initial burn in. Few days later went to use for the first time, error codes again, checked everything I could, still won’t work. Lows had no quality control, or even text to see if anything worked after assembly...

Would RecommendI used this Smoker/Grill weekly for cooking for the family Ribs, Pizza, Chicken and many more. It's simple to use I feel like I'm Ready for competition grilling. I smoked my first Turkey a wonderful delight and Pull Pork is a must do.
