Love it

Bought this three weeks ago.  First cook was baby backs.   No problems at all.  Second cook 15 hour pork butt, no problems at all. Third was beef ribs.  Done without problems at all.  Easy to use, Set up, and run.

Grill/smoker

I haven’t got to use the grill yet, but I was able to put it together by myself even though they said it was a two person job. I looked it over once it was put together. It looks like it’s gonna be an awesome grill for me. I can’t wait to use

Great smoker, good grill.

This is my second Akorn, first with the fan. I loved my Akorn. Efficient smoking with minimal coal use. Excellent for long smokes. Searing is not the best with this grill since the coals sit so far down beneath the cooking surface. That said, baking, or smoking is so good, I gladly have a second grill just for searing. The suggested vent opening that you get with the Auto Settings is usually off by about 25%, but again, once you get used to it you can typically figure it out. I would lik...

Stick with the original

The computer system is cheaply made and failed within a couple of weeks. The thermometer fails to read despite cleaning and following all instructions on how to troubleshoot. The additional cost for the "auto" version of this grill is not worth the investment as it is the first thing to fail. The grill is otherwise well made but without the manual temp regulation available due to the "auto" features, this grill loses its abilities when the electronic parts fail. DO NOT HAVE LOWES BUILD IT FOR YOU!!!!

I love this AKRON, but I had Lowes build it for me for FREE, they did not leave instructions and put it together wrong. I have to redo most of it, without instructions. I guess you get what you pay for, I could have bought this grill at another store for less but the idea of not having to build myself I thought was worth the extra I paid for it. For the grill I give it a perfect 5 Stars, for Lowes I give them 1 star.

You get what you pay for

I got this grill to try kamado grilling. It's not really a ceramic grill but is a metal shell stuffed with insulation. After about 5 years, it completely rusted out. My grill was on my deck so not protected from the rain. If I had been a bit more religious covering it I may have gotten a few more years. But it is hard in SW PA to use a grill cover. I like the whole concept on how the grill operates. Well made and somewhat affordable. Looking forward to many years of cooking different types of meat.

very surprised how much I like this grill

When I first bought this grill, I didn't like the automatic function. I thought it would be too easy. But I was pleasantly surprised that I could still get a direct sear over charcoal as well as doing a low and slow. Cook with automatic temperature function highly recommend this grill. Junk, failed on third use

Complete junk. I've had this for just a few weeks. It has been under a cover on a covered porch. Looks brand new, but receiving erf error message it has failed on the 3rd use. Completely unacceptable. I owned the regular Akorn and it was great, but I was really looking forward to the automated controller. To bad this is junk. No more chargriller products for me.

Best Kamado at a great price

Made a turkey

Love This Pit!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been rocking this pit since it came out. SUPER efficient. I can get at least 30 hours out of a cook. Accurate. Portable. I use this pit at least twice a week. Low and slows to 700° sears. I've used it in competitions. It's tough. It fell iff my trailer at 30 mph. She is scarred but works like a champ still. 10/10 recommend
