Better than average

This is an affordable trimmer. It gets the job done decently. The edging seems to work very well (when using the sideways tilt, and the wheel helps guide it along edge of driveway, for example). Nice that you don’t have to “bump” or “pull” cord when it breaks off (it auto-resets). Works great for me

I've read the bad reviews here, which seem to center on edging. I don't use the edger feature at all. I have had great luck with this cutting thick blackberries, lemon balm, three-foot tall grass, etc. I would not use a trimmer with lower than .80 line, and this fits the bill. It has a pretty wide swath, and it is easy to set up. The only frustration is that occasionally the pre-strung line switches over on itself and stops feeding. Easy to use

I really dislike the weight and upkeep of a gas powered unit and definately made the right choice in going with this one. This is very lightweight and easy to handle.

Better than expected!

After reading the reviews I was a little sceptical about this unit. I must say that I am completely satisfied with it! My front yard has a lot of concrete block sidewalk/walkway that has to be "cleared". My original 3 trimmers used line at a prodigeous rate against the pavers. This trimmer has yet to finish its original spool after 5 uses, The others generally had to be rewound each use!

poor quality parts

Used it twice and the spool cover has a hole worn through it, right where the black auto feed lever. So now the trimmer is useless. Probably not the best idea to have it plastic ;-) :-/

Residential Electric Trimmer

Wanted to stick with an electric/corded trimmer. I recommend buying the Ryobi electric trimmer 18" swath/10A instead. In addition to more power (10A vs 7.5A) and bigger coverage (18" vs 14"), the Ryobi has longer warranty (3yrs vs 2), 2 trim lines (vs 1), and longer reach (straight shaft vs curved) for the same base price.

They need to fix the spooling problem

I've always had success with Black & Decker products, so when I needed a trimmer for the lawn I bought theirs. Well, I was impressed with the wheel that makes edging a breeze, but it's too bad the spool of line empties about every 10 feet. Shame on me for not reading the reviews before making the purchase. A full spool empties within a matter of minutes. A new cap over the spool has not resolved the issue, so I sent it to the company's service center for them to look at because unless it's fixed...

Worst trimmer ever

I use a spool every time I trim my lawn. I had a toro that I replaced with the gh3000 and a toro spool would last half a season. with the gh3000 trimmer I can trim for about 30 seconds and then I have to spend 5 minutes rewinding the spool. DO NOT BUY THIS TRIMMER.

An affordable electric weed eater

Well balanced, light and compact, it cuts like crazy for its size. The auto advance is a little sluggish when edging or I would rate it a 5.

Works great

This low price trimmer is capable of handling the big jobs. I bought it to clear dense underbrush on the hillside behind my house.

I like its versitilaty

I've had this trimmer for about 2 to 3 years. It does what it says it will do. The only problem is sometimes the line will not cut. To fix that problem I sharpen the cutter every so often and clean off the excess grass.

Great when it worked, only twice...

The bad reviews about the auto-spool are correct. Mine broke the third time I switched the spools and now I have to pull the line out every couple of minutes. My gut told me not to buy a Black and Decker and I wish I hadn't.

My gas trimmer was giving me fits, so I bought this trimmer. So far, so good!

I absolutely love this!

I absolutely love this weed eater I wish I had a stronger amp system but other than that it's so nice I don't have to worry about gas or fumes or having to pull a choke cord or mixing oils and what not I mean I don't want to have to be a chemist and able to get my consistency right and then do something wrong and flood the engine I don't have that problem here I just plug it in and I literally go and it's so fast it's great cutting I love it's so relaxing if I could give it 10 Stars I would!!!

Great item.

This edger/trimmer is great to use. The wheel makes it so easy to edge around sidewalks and flower beds. The curved handle is nice for control.
