Worst piece of lawn equipment I've ever owned.

Six - count 'em, six! - spools of cord (at $8.97 per) to do 300 linear feet of trimming. And, the spool cap is a piece of work, too: almost impossible to remove when it comes time to change the spool. Job that should have taken half an hour, took an hour and a half. Cheaper and less aggravating to have a pro come out every couple of weeks.

"AFS"is a horrible joke

Enjoy the line randomly feeding 3 feet so it tangles around itself. Also, in the weedeater orientation, the spool spins faster and burgers through even more line than normal. You have to hold it upside down in the edger orientation of you want to have a weed eater that didn't cute through line at a ridiculous rate. The price they charge for extra spools is ridiculous, too.

Worst product ever made

Please. Please do not purchase this product. String has to be manually taken apart and rewound every 30 seconds. Went through $26 of line in less than 60 minutes. It wraps around the grass instead of cutting it. This is just normal grass edging where my lawnmower could not cut. Worst product ever made.

A terrific trimmer + edger

I just purchased my 3rd GH300, this is the best one by far. With the addition of the edger wheel and the conversion to a single line, this is an entirely new machine. My previous one is 5 years old and still going strong. I’ll give it to my son, who will get many more years of service on it. I bought this new model because my sons old trimmer died after only a couple of years use and I wanted the new one to take advantage of the edger on my corner lot. I just finished using the edger...

This is the second season that I've been using the trimmer. No problems, works well.

I love it

I had a B&D trimmer for about 6 years that I loved. I moved to a house that had a much bigger yard and when my trimmer finally died and I really didn't want to use an extension cord, I tried a gas trimmer (too heavy) and a battery powered trimmer (not enough power) so went back to this. I still love it. I just bought a small generator to use with it.

It did just what it was intended for. Its great.

I purchased this because I new black and decker products are great.

Fair edger; not good trimmer

I WANT TWO STRINGS BACK! This one cannot do a good job at weed whacking! Trimmer works fairly well

It suits me just fine.

I've used this trimmer for about 12years. Which means I'm on my 5th unit they usually last about three years. I live in two places which means I have two yards to keep up. This type unit has been more than up to the task. In one location its the country, it's hilly so I used the unit to cut the whole yard at the other location, much bigger property it does what its designed to do. I'm satisfied.

Third time using it and the motor is smoking. String did not feed correctly

Easy to use, lightweight

I love this trimmer. I used to have the battery operated one and the battery would only last about 20 minutes. This obviously has essentially unlimited power via the cord, but it works so well that I can edge my lawn pretty quickly. I really enjoy the different angles and the wheel that helps me keep a straight edge without butchering my lawn. I’ve used the one spool of line on at least 6 different occasions, in other words, doing the entire lawn 6 times with the same spool. I’m not a profession...

Reverse the line in the spool !!! Eating Fixed!!!

Just reverse the line in the opposite direction and you lose any line to the auto feed function. You can also just duct tape the auto feed lever on the bottom and this will also disable the auto feed function. Powerful trimmer better than my gas trimmer in terms of cutting power.

JUNK

Got one several months ago used it just enough to go through 1 spool. Weedeater crapped out. Got a replacement , Used it once 10 min. ,Literally babied the heck out of it . Went to use it a second time .Found out the threads on the cable attached to the spool assembly were stripped. This model is complete JUNK,

Do Not Buy

This trimmer is hard to operate. The string is used up very quickly. I gad to purchase a new spool because the original one would not work. The only thing it is good for is edging.

good product

iv'e had mine for about 3 years and it is one of the better machines on the market . it does about all you would want a weed eater to do . my wife even thinks it's great.

I have always used black and decker . I know have two black and decker

Already broken

The spool continuously feeds the line when using and sends small pieces of the line everywhere. Before it started doing this, it would not feed the line at all. Done with Black & Decker. Poor quality/reliability.

Absolutely junk!!

Got so frustrated with it I threw the thing across the yard!!!
