We filled the base with sand and put some gravel and a few pavers for a floor in the kitchen area. Plenty of room for a kitchen floor and generous sand box area. Would RecommendKids love it. Mostly solid construction and the instructions made it super easy to put up. Some of the boards were split or surface peeling on arrival. Doesn't seem to impact the strength, but those will wear out faster than the rest of the set.
