Not meant for older kids or adults

The wood is alittle flimsy and definitely not meant for older kids or adults which I’m pretty bummed about because I can’t even sit in the bench. Otherwise it’s a really nice play set and I’m glad I got it when my little one is young so he can enjoy it for years to come. This is definitely not a day project, more like a weekend project.

Great product, easy to follow directions

Great product, easy to follow directions. A ton of steps and hardware, and took me about 18 hours to complete.

Slide is very slow

I bought this set because the slide looked long and fun in the pictures, but unfortunately the material it is made out of is not slippery at all. My daughter had to use her feet to help herself scoot down the slide. Since the slide is installed at the end, the set was almost completely built before I realized this. I never would have purchased it knowing that the slide was so slow and am extremely disappointed. Also, while the appearance of the set is cute, the wood feels cheap and flimsy.

Quality of wood

Quality of the boards is not very good. Lots of split pieces. Customer service has been good about getting new ones shipped out quickly but there is no quality control for the replacement parts being shipped out as I have gotten new pierces that are cracked or that have been filled with glue and stained over. Overall my daughter loves the set and that is what matters but just he be prepared to build over several weeks.

Good Buy

The swing set was easy to assemble and the pieces were well labelled. Some of the pieces were warped, and a few had cracks. We followed the assembly instructions to a T, and yet some of our boards still cracked during assembly. I will be contacting backyard discovery for replacement boards. It is quite sturdy although it does shift when two of the kids are on two of the swings and swinging simultaneously. My daughter absolutely loves it.

Swing set

This set came in two boxes and said it would take 8 hours to assemble. We worked on it for maybe 16 hours at least. Just make sure to have someone handing you the parts you need. They don’t pack any extra screws which we needed.

Kids love it!

We’ve had the Shenandoah swing set for about a year now and it has proved to be the best pandemic purchase to date! There has been hours of fun and tons of imaginary play with both the kitchen and play house section up top. The slide is fast and has taken some getting used to for my almost 4 year old!

Great Features!

I bought this a couple of months ago and my girls love it. Well built and spacious. Would purchase again in a heartbeat.

Lots of fun great price & quality

Bought this playset a month ago for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She is in love with it from the playhouse to the swings. But oh that slide which her Mommy and I have both used to her amusement. At 1st I was worried it was too big for someone so small. It's perfect & safe. Looking forward to years of fun safe memories together.

Great for small children

Great swing set for little kids but materials are fairly cheap as you would expect at this price point. It is recommended at ages 3-10 and that seems accurate. Parents will not be able to sit on the bench or swings as my daughter wanted me to (and I’m a fairly small adult). But this set does have a lot of great features and our girls especially love the little playhouse!

Great set, excellent installer...unfortunately we were missing a piece. We have received it but have to finish the set ourselves. I would have expected a bit more for the price we paid.

Good set for the price

My wife and I put the set together over a few weekends. Assembly is difficult "at times" most is quite straightforward. Quality is good . The house is a scaled down version of the other brands which use 4x4s . This works for me as I have always thought the others are overbuilt.

Huge playhouse is amazing

We had previously purchased a slightly smaller swing set from Backyard Discovery and loved it, but it was time for a refresh so we went a little bigger with the Shenandoah and are thrilled with our choice. The huge play house area downstairs is amazing and equipped with a kitchen. It regularly keeps kids age 2-9 entertained for hours! We have made a slight modification to the unit to add a slide but (Modifications not recommended by the manufacturer)

Great Combined Playset/Playhouse

We love this set. It combines the best of a playset and a playhouse for our two granddaughters. We have stained it brown to match our deck, and we have plans to add a few girly features to the playhouse. No additions are necessary, because it comes perfect as is. We are just opting to do addons. I would recommend the Shenandoa to anyone.

Perfect Size and Sturdily Built

Our kids love this set! They are 6 and 3 and it is the perfect size for them. I would guess that this set is best for kids 8 or 9 and under. Hundreds of hours of fun have already been had on the set and I expect thousands more to come! They especially love the rock climbing wall, swings, play kitchen, and of course, the slide. Assembly was very tedious, but not overly difficult. Two people working together took one full day of work.

Lots of pieces 229 steps very detailed just follow directions and organize by alphabetical order
