a wonderful project

Bought these jack posts to replace 3 old jack post that was getting old. These jack posts are easy to put together, heavy duty and the hardware is wonderful with heavy bolts and acorn nuts.

Nice product.

This jack post costs around $5 more than the next cheaper model, and is well worth the price difference.

Threads Dinged

Took a half hour to file all the dings out of the carriage bolts and another half hour to file the jack screw threads. Jack works ok after fixing the dings. Jack screw threads are bent on the end and nut cannot be removed, so double nutting is not an option. Fast shipping and good price.

Don't bother shipping them

The items were not packaged properly, and were missing pieces, all I got were the pipes, so now I have to take them back to a store anyhow, of which they don't seem to be stocked in my local Lowes, so I have to go to a Lowes further away and hope they have two with the parts in them.

Garbage

The pieces would not fit together because of burrs in the pipes, and the bolts were missing. Another garbage product that's over priced. Back to old school reliability with 4 by 4's and floor jacks.

Did the Trick

this was a good choice needed to reinforce the family room floor due to a remodeling project and this post did the trick and was just what we needed

Pieces missing

Hard to rate since I wasn't able to use it. When it arrived all I got were two tubes, two end plates and two nuts for the bolts (not included). No bolts to connect the tubes and no adjusting screw to raise it. I had no problem returning it to the local Lowes. Don't know if I'll order another one from Lowes (they don't stock them in my store so I can't check them before buying). May see what their competitors have to offer.

Big Moe not really a consumer product

Don't buy this thinking it is a usable product right out of the box by the average consumer. It is a box of rough pieces needing to be worked on--you need tools. First, you need small files to deburr the dinged up screw threads so you can turn it into or out of the nut without binding every turn or so. Then, you may need (I did) a 3 ft threaded rod, nuts and washers and a 2-in grinding wheel to mount on it so you could put in a drill in order to smooth out the rough seam inside the large pipe...

The product itself was great but parts missing

The product itself was great but there were parts missing. We ended up going to two different Lowe's to get a total of 6 posts. 3 of the 6 were missing parts. This was very time consuming. The salesman, when asked if he was sure if all the parts were in the boxes, ( Because the had been taped up) said he could not open them but to take them home and if something was missing to bring it back. We will be bringing them back.

ONLY RECEIVED PARTIAL DAMAGED SHIPMENT

Taking all things into consideration, it is hard to give this purchase a positive review. My shipment arrived in a flimsy box which was completely open on one end. Out of the whole purchase, I only received two poles and one of the end plates, thus am missing various hardware. The two poles took a beating in shipment and have various deep scratches which I assume now makes them vulnerable to rust...not a good thing here in hot, humid Florida. The woman and then a man were very helpful and for that I was happy. I had a Jack Post in my basement {several} and this is the second time this post, in this spot has rusted thru. I've owned my home now 30 years so I went to purchase a new post to replace the old .Thought I would get two and replace the other one as it is getting bad. Need to be better designed

Hard to adjust in tight spots being there is only one spot for any adjustments instead of having a hex shape all the way around which would make adjustments easier. Had to use a pipe wrench which marred the shaft, but didn't damage the threads.

Great Product bad Lowes Store

This item is great easy to assemble, adjust and mount. My problem is not with the product, but with the store where I first bought it. I bought 3 of these for my new home during construction at Lowes of Robinson Township in one of the Pittsburgh, Pa. suburbs. When I bought them the associate in the building supplies dept. assured me that they were complete even though two of them had been previously open and taped shut.
