Would Not RecommendI purchased a 50 gallon hot water heater at Lowes in Ormond Beach Florida. When i got it home and unboxed it, it was dented. I put it back in the box and returned it to the store. I had to go through the return process which took a while because they were busy. Then i went back it the department to get a different one. I picked one out and made sure the box wasn't damaged like the one i just returned. There did not appear to be any damage. I took it home and opened the box the next morning....

Good fit for small spaces.
Would RecommendI was replacing one in my double-wide home where things are pushed into small places. At 19 inches it was a almost perfect replacement. A little higher than the original but made it work.

Would Not RecommendVery disappointed, after installed , water didn’t warm up much, after 2 weeks I was able to figure out upper thermostat was defective from factory. Called manufacturer, approved part replacement over the phone, drove 30 mi it’s to Lowe’s to pick it up to find out they didn’t have any info on it, manufacturer has not done paperwork. Called AP Smith again, I was told to buy the part and they will reimburse the money. Huge hazzle for a new $600.00 water heater ☹️

Would Not RecommendSince I can't respond to Vendors on Lowes.com I made this second review from the initial with photos to show the settings are the same. Below is my initial review. My RUUD of 20 years finally couldn't take it anymore. Bought this one since it was the same wattage and capacity, thinking it would perform as good as the 20 y/o unit, and it's not even close. Doesn't get as hot as my broken one one did. Doesn't keep water hot as long as my older one did. But yeah, I have hot water again. :(

Lasted 2 years and 8 months
Would Not RecommendAfter 2yr and 8mo. it started to deliver half of the amount of hot water. I tried to drain it and and the drain spigot failed. Also the anode rod is so locked into place that it cannot be removed. Customer service was terrible. After waiting for 30 minutes they explain that the warranty only covers replacement parts. Also admitted that the anodes have been a problem and recommend placing a newly designed hollow one into the hot water out. Imagine piping all that dissolving anode into your house ...

Would Not RecommendInstalled this water heater only to find out that it didn’t work. Lowe’s would not accept a return because Smith insisted that it be fixed. When I pay for a new heater I don’t want a fixed one! Shame on Smith and shame on Lowe’s for carrying this product
