When I contacted AO Smith support, they offered to ship me a replacement part, which would take several days. Alternatively, they suggested I contact Lowe’s customer service with the replacement part number to pick it up locally. However, Lowe’s customer support informed me that they couldn’t assist with this and referred me back to AO Smith. When I asked if I could return the heater, given that ...

When I installed this water heater the house was filled with hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs) gas. I set the temperature to maximum and that helped but didn't solve the problem. The next step was to replace the anode with one made of alumimun-zinc. That was not possible because the original anode will not come loose, even with an impact wrench. A.O. Smith agreed to replace the heater but offer no help on delivery, about 30 miles from the Lowes store, or installation. Don't expect customer suppor...

defective after 90 days.
Would Not RecommendThe heating element burned out causing water leak had it replaced and then found out thermostat was defective also.Lowes not willing to give any kind of assistance,I live 90 miles away and my wife took the defective parts and receipts to lowes and they said take it up with manufacturer.Extremely unhappy and would not recomend to anybody and if that's the best Lowes can do...that's pretty sad.
