Worked like a charm

One of my waterhoses cracked and broke, where there were kinks in the hose, during the really cold temps a week or so ago. Found this online, bought it at my local Lowe's, attached it today. Worked like a charm. No leaks, no drips. Only real problem was it's a very tight fit. I'm not sure what size the hose is, 3/4 or 5/8, but it took some force to get the hose around the brass ends. Thought it would be better than the plastic one

So our garden hose was left on over the winter and split at one spot. So I went to Lowes and picked up the plastic repair kit. With that one, three of the four screws seated and the fourth one just turned and turned. So I returned it, and decided to spend the extra money on the metal hose mender (this one). Awful

Tried to fix the garden hose with this twice thinking I assembled it wrong, but it still leaks water. The 'outside' parts have little protrusions that stick out a bit on the underside, presumably to prevent them from sliding around on the hose. However when assembled, those protrusions press up against 'inside' part preventing a complete and even seal all around the garden hose. Thus, they leak. Waste of money.

Metal says it all

Bought plenty of the plastic hose repair kits/parts. figurged this time, I'd try the metal kind and just pay the price. Although much more expensive compared to the plastic, at least these should hold up. They tighten down well, the metal doesn't strip or crack. So far, so good and glad I spent the extra money for the metal versions.

Hose Repair Kit

Unless the hose is exactly the same circumference as the clamp, it WILL leak. Nothing beats a hose clamp like automobile repairs...not happy at all. I've spend $20 on various different repair splices and they have ALL leaked past the clamp. Now I'm half way into buying a new hose.

Does not work

I purchased two of these to repair a hose that was damaged. I simply cannot tighten the screws enough to prevent it from spewing water out and leaking. It does not work

The plastic one blew out and never worked. We returned and purchased this one and it stayed on the fist time and we were able to use our hose once more.

Don't replace your hose, fix it

I had some cuts in hose and instead of replacing it I've installed this hose mender. It will last for the lifetime of the hose.

Hose Mender

Seems to be a fairly well made product fitting 5/8 & 3/4 hoses. Did not work well on a 3/4" hose. I have to keep tightening and tightening and still I get dripping. It should be fine for 5/8 but wouldn't recommend for 3/4.

Not a good solution poor quality

The inside metal barrel has such flimsy ribs that it doesn't mate well with the outside clamps. It is supposed to work with 1/2-5/8 hose. I quit trying to get it to seal after four try's and got a different brand that worked.

Dependable and durable

I have two good and durable 100' 3/4" hi-flow hoses strung together for filling troughs. One of them had gotten scraped enough times in the middle to wear off the thick rubber covering and the webbed belt underneath. The remaining unreinforced rubber casing slowly developed a bulge from the water pressure and eventually blew from the stress.
